Mitra EV Unveils First Shared Fast Charging Hubs to Empower Small Fleet Electrification
Mitra EV Launches Nation's First Network of Shared Fast Charging Hubs
In a groundbreaking initiative, Mitra EV has introduced the first network of shared fast charging hubs specifically designed for small and medium fleet owners. This launch, part of the U.S. Department of Energy-supported Project REEF, aims to remove barriers to electric vehicle (EV) adoption among small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
On May 15th, 2025, the company will celebrate the opening of its charging hubs in Rancho Cordova, California, at the locations of Sierra Pacific and Aztec Solar. This significant event will include key stakeholders from the industry, policymakers, and partners, highlighting Mitra EV's commitment to promoting fleet electrification. Tim Taylor, Executive Director of the Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition, emphasized the challenges SMBs often face when considering EVs; high initial costs and complicated charging setups can deter their transition to electric.
Mitra EV’s innovative model aims to alleviate these pain points. According to the California Air Resources Board, 99% of fleets in California consist of fewer than 50 trucks, which underscores the importance of catering to SMBs within the EV landscape. James Tong, CEO of Mitra EV, stated, "Our model is built to support SMBs from the ground up. We’re not just deploying chargers but also creating a sustainable path for electrification that is financially accessible and operationally straightforward."
The charging hubs will allow fleet operators to transition to electric vehicles without incurring upfront costs. This is achieved through Mitra’s tailored solutions which also promise to cut fuel and maintenance costs by 30% to 50%. The service simplifies EV procurement, charging installations, and compliance.
Mitra EV's approach is designed to catalyze growth in the fleet electrification sector, and as part of Project REEF, they have plans for an additional eleven charging hubs currently under construction across several states including California, Colorado, Ohio, and Georgia. This expansion represents a significant leap towards offering comprehensive, revenue-generating EV infrastructure that aligns with national standards.
The launch event will feature technology demonstrations, interactions with early adopters, and networking opportunities with investors and media. This is an excellent chance for stakeholders to engage with the advancements in EV infrastructure made possible by Mitra EV.
For those interested in attending or seeking more information, Mitra EV encourages RSVP inquiries via their media contacts, aiming to promote awareness and educate potential users about the benefits of electrification.
Mitra EV’s mission reflects a growing recognition of the role SMBs play in the commercial fleet sector and the necessity for accessible electric vehicle options. This initiative not only supports environmental goals but also empowers local businesses to reduce operational costs, contributing to a more sustainable future.
As electric vehicle adoption continues to accelerate, Mitra EV's efforts position them as a frontrunner in reshaping the transportation landscape by ensuring no fleet is left behind in the transition to greener alternatives.
