CTCI Group Celebrates Exceptional Sustainability Achievements for Three Consecutive Years
CTCI Group's Exceptional Sustainability Achievements
In a significant accomplishment for the global engineering sector, CTCI Group announced that its subsidiaries, CTCI Corporation and ECOVE Environment Corporation, are included in S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook 2025. This prestigious yearbook evaluates corporate sustainability practices across various industries, and this year, over 7,690 companies were assessed, with only 780 securing a place in its pages.
Continuous Recognition
CTCI Corporation was recognized as a top 1% performer in the construction and engineering category for its outstanding Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) score. This achievement marks three consecutive years of CTCI being hailed as a leader in corporate sustainability. Concurrently, ECOVE Environment Corporation was acknowledged as an industry mover in the commercial services and supplies category due to its notable improvement in sustainability practices.
CTCI Group’s success emphasizes its commitment to sustainability and its vision of becoming a “Guardian of Sustainable Earth.” According to John Yu, Chairman of CTCI Group, the company is driven by a shared purpose to protect the planet by embedding sustainability into every project they undertake. As they integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks into their corporate strategy, CTCI not only achieves remarkable performance metrics but also realizes financial success.
Financial Success
In 2024, CTCI Group reported impressive financial milestones, boasting a record NT$119.7 billion in consolidated revenue and NT$125.6 billion in new contracts—surpassing NT$100 billion for five consecutive years. Notably, low-carbon and environmental protection projects constituted a substantial 60% of these initiatives. Among their key projects is Taiwan’s first carbon storage site, where CTCI plays a pivotal role in carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects, establishing itself as a frontrunner in Taiwan’s engineering market.
Green Engineering Initiatives
Through its “Green Engineering” initiative, CTCI ensures that all phases of a project—from design and construction to operation—are energy-efficient and minimize carbon emissions. The company actively collaborates with partners and suppliers to create a greener supply chain and facilitate industrial transformation towards sustainability. In 2024, CTCI set ambitious short- and long-term carbon reduction targets aligned with the Science Based Targets Initiative, aiming to decrease Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 45% by the year 2030.
Moreover, CTCI has initiated a Supplier Alliance for Net Zero Emissions, implementing guidance and incentive mechanisms for its supply chain to develop their carbon reduction goals by 2028.
Biodiversity Commitments
Demonstrating a proactive approach to biodiversity, CTCI employs biodiversity hotspot analyses to prevent deforestation during project implementation. As part of their sustainable commitment, CTCI has signed the Business for Nature Call to Action, taking early steps toward aligning with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures. This reinforces CTCI's commitment to biodiversity and environmental conservation.
Social Responsibility
On the social front, CTCI Group is dedicated to nurturing talent and supporting sustainability education. Their engagements are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with significant contributions through the CTCI Education Foundation. Notably, this foundation was the 11th NGO from Taiwan to be admitted to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, underlining the group’s dedication to global sustainability initiatives.
CTCI Group is determined to continue its journey as a reliable engineering service provider while expanding its influence towards sustainable practices across the industry. This commitment positions CTCI as a leader in engineering solutions and a promoter of a sustainable future.
