Sensational Summer Collaboration: Unique Donuts from Kasugai, KKD, and Nakamo

A Taste of Nagoya Summer: Exciting New Donuts!

This summer, the collaboration between three dynamic companies is set to enhance the delicious offerings in Nagoya. Crispy Kreme Doughnuts Japan (KKDJ) is thrilled to partner with Kasugai Seika, a renowned confectionery manufacturer, and Nakamo, a key player in the local food scene, to present two unique donuts. These delicious treats will be available at all Crispy Kreme locations in the Tokai region starting from July 16, 2025, and will be offered for a limited time only.

The “Crazy Summer School” (おかしなサマースクール) initiative was kicked off by Kasugai Seika, and has now entered its third year. Founded in 1928, the company aims to bring joy and creativity to the community. KKDJ has been a part of this project since its inception, collaborating each year to create donuts that align with the summer theme. This year’s collaboration not only features the expertise of Kasugai Seika, but also highlights Nakamo, known for its indispensable presence in the Nagoya cuisine landscape.

Unique Flavors to Experience

Milk Mint - Xylitol Crystal Flavor

The first donut, “Milk Mint - Xylitol Crystal Flavor”, offers a refreshing twist that embodies the essence of summer. Inspired by Kasugai Seika’s popular Xylitol Crystal candies, this donut provides a cooling sensation with each bite. It's encased in white chocolate, filled with a delightful cream that combines milk and mint flavors, enhancing its summertime appeal. Topped with crunchy sugar and distinctive three-line designs made from white chocolate that symbolize the Xylitol crystals, this donut is sure to bring a burst of refreshing flavor to treat lovers.

Miso Katsu Crunch - Try Dipping Sauce

The second creation, “Miso Katsu Crunch - Try Dipping Sauce”, reimagines the classic Nagoya dish Miso Katsu into an exciting donut format. Perfectly blending sweet and savory, this donut is coated in a sweet caramel glaze and adorned with a crunchy almond and bacon-flavored topping, mimicking the texture of the famed Katsu. To finish, Nakamo’s signature dipping sauce “Try Miso Dipping Sauce” is drizzled on top for that authentic taste. It’s a delightful fusion that transforms a local favorite into a playful yet savory snack option.

Limited Time Offer

Both donuts will be available until the end of August 2025, priced at 388 yen (or 396 yen for eat-in). The excitement generated by their unique textures and flavors is expected to resonate with customers, inviting them to indulge in something truly special this summer.

The continues brand philosophy of Kasugai Seika aims for delicious and trusted sweets, while Nakamo remains committed to preserving traditional Japanese fermented foods. Together, they are not only capturing the essence of Nagoya but also creating unforgettable summer memories for donut enthusiasts.

In conclusion, these specially crafted donuts are an amazing way to bring a taste of Nagoya’s culinary joy and creativity to brighten up the summer for residents and visitors alike. Keep an eye on the local Krispy Kreme locations so you don’t miss out on these limited-time treats!
