NTT Group Establishes Synexia Ventures, a Startup Investment Fund Focusing on Southeast Asia

NTT Group Launches Synexia Ventures to Drive Innovation in Southeast Asia



NTT Group is taking a significant step into Southeast Asia's vibrant startup ecosystem with the establishment of Synexia Ventures Pte. Ltd., set to launch on December 15, 2025. This investment fund aims to foster collaboration between promising local startups and NTT Group companies, thereby enhancing innovation and new business creation across the region. With a fund size of $10 million (approximately 1.5 billion yen), Synexia Ventures will primarily invest in key areas of interest, including AI, IoT, smart cities, robotics, and drones.

The strategic focus of Synexia Ventures aligns with the NTT Group's objective of strengthening its business endeavors in Southeast Asia, especially in markets such as Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The fund will be managed by Kuan Hsu, a general partner at KK Fund, which is based in Singapore. Hsu is expected to leverage his extensive venture capital experience in Southeast Asia to guide the fund's investments. Notably, Synexia Ventures represents NTT Group's first foray into the region's investment landscape with a dedicated approach.

Southeast Asia, comprising 11 countries and approximately 700 million people, is recognised as a burgeoning market with immense growth potential. Despite its rapid economic development, the region faces numerous social challenges, which many startups are actively working to address. Consequently, the role of Southeast Asia is shifting from merely a manufacturing hub to a center for innovative solutions, making it an attractive landscape for investment.
