Research Reveals Rising Awareness of Wellness and Asset Formation Among Working Women Ahead of International Women’s Day 2026

In a special initiative for International Women’s Day 2026, NewMe Research Institute conducted a survey aimed at understanding the career aspirations and wellness priorities of women in their 20s and 30s. The survey, which took place between December 2025 and February 2026, involved around 350 working women.

The results of the survey revealed that a striking 68% of respondents are concerned about achieving a balance between their careers and their personal lives. This interest reflects a significant trend among young working women who are prioritizing their holistic well-being alongside professional development. This marks a transition from viewing work-life balance as a challenge to embracing it as an essential foundation for career success.

Interestingly, the second-most important topic among respondents was the desire for role models, with 43.5% indicating a need for guidance in their journey. More than half of the women in their late 20s expressed a strong interest in finding relatable figures to help navigate career challenges. This desire for mentorship persists even among women in their 30s, revealing a consistent quest for inspiration across different career stages.

The survey also touched on the topic of job transitions, with 35.2% of respondents citing interest in changing jobs. However, what stands out is the shift in perspective regarding job changes, as women seem to frame it more as one of several options rather than a primary solution for dissatisfaction. This shows a broader understanding of career development that incorporates the aforementioned factors of work-life balance and mentorship.

In addition to career-related topics, the survey highlighted significant interest in life-related issues, particularly wellness and asset formation, garnering 59.5% and 53.6% of respondents' interest, respectively. The findings suggest that high-earning women are increasingly viewing their mental and physical health as critical components for sustaining long-term productivity in their careers. This approach to wellness is being seen as a strategic investment in their professional lives.

Asset formation is gaining recognition as a vital part of economic independence. Many women in this demographic opt for aggressive career paths, underscoring their desire for financial independence and the ability to make choices that align with their values and goals.

The survey results also revealed a consistent interest in external communities, with 50.3% of respondents highlighting the need for broader networking opportunities outside of their immediate professional circles. This desire indicates a collective yearning for diverse connections and perspectives that enrich both personal and professional lives. NewMe’s community, 'Fourth', has emerged as a platform for women to share experiences and provide mutual encouragement, fostering an environment that is both collaborative and supportive.

An analysis of responses across age groups illustrated that interest in career and life topics remains high throughout different stages of adulthood. The top concern for all ages was still work-life balance, affirming it as a universal priority among working women. However, as women get older, their focus shifts towards issues like promotions, side gigs, and leveraging AI in their work. For instance, while women in their late 20s expressed strong interest in job changes, the older age brackets tended to focus more on leadership roles and innovative career strategies.

In conclusion, NewMe plans to leverage these insights to deliver tailored career empowerment programs aimed at supporting women in their 20s and 30s. By fostering a supportive environment and enhancing mentorship opportunities, NewMe aims to challenge organizations to improve their female leadership metrics while nurturing the next generation of female leaders. This strategy is seen as crucial in shaping a more equitable workforce dynamic in the coming years.
