over 80% anticipated strong showings from both Japan and the United States. Predictions for championship winners saw over
70% of respondents choosing Japan to defend its title, against other strong contenders like the USA.
Netflix's Impact on Viewership
This year's WBC marks a significant shift as Netflix will exclusively stream the games in Japan. We queried participants about their subscription intentions. Surprisingly,
17.3% reported already having a subscription unrelated to WBC, while
4.9% confirmed they would subscribe for the event. Intriguingly,
8.8% of respondents indicated they were considering joining depending on the tournament's excitement.
