Design Hotels Expands Its Presence at Mexico City Art Week with Exciting Culinary Experiences
Design Hotels at Mexico City Art Week 2025
Design Hotels is poised to make a significant impact at Mexico City Art Week this year, marking its second appearance at this vibrant cultural event. With a dedicated focus on celebrating art and hospitality, the brand is set to enhance the experience for both art lovers and culinary enthusiasts.
A Stronger Culinary Program
From February 4th to 9th, 2025, Design Hotels will actively participate in major art fairs, including Zona Maco and the Material Art Fair. The brand has collaborated with notable members, Grupo Habita and Drift Hotels, to curate an exceptional culinary and cocktail program. As Carlos Couturier, co-founder of Grupo Habita, stated: “Art Week is an extraordinary time to be in Mexico City with many unique exhibits and events that connect artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts from around the globe.”
To kick off this lively week, Design Hotels will host a private brunch at Museo Anahuacalli on February 4th, just before the public opening of a duo-exhibition featuring artists Paloma Contreras and Carolina Fusilier. Guests will enjoy a delectable menu crafted by Chef Saúl Carranza from Hotel Escondido, paired with creative drinks by renowned mixologist Alexis Soler from Drift Nashville.
Bistró Humano Comes to Life
Design Hotels is excited to introduce Bistró Humano, a pop-up restaurant representing the newest property, Hotel Humano. Located at the main exhibition in Zona Maco, the restaurant's menu, curated by Chef Marion Chateau, will draw inspiration from the relaxed beachfront atmosphere of La Punta Zicatela in Oaxaca. This immersive experience aims to elevate the overall ambiance during one of Mexico City's most celebrated art events.
Lounge at Material Art Fair
In addition, Design Hotels, together with Grupo Habita, will operate a lounge at the Material Art Fair. This space, designed by Ago Projects, will feature a menu crafted by Enid Vélez, the celebrated chef from hotel Círculo Mexicano. Furthermore, a custom cocktail menu designed by Alexis Soler will be available, showcasing her knack for infusing local flavors into classic cocktails.
Sarah Doyle, Global Brand Leader at Design Hotels, emphasizes the brand's commitment to community and innovation by stating, “Our goal is to push boundaries and deepen community during established and emerging events in art and design around the world.”
After the Mexico City Art Week, Design Hotels has ambitious plans to continue its artistic journey. The brand will host events during Milan Design Week in April, participate in the Venice Biennale in May—where Grupo Habita will contribute to the Mexican pavilion—and engage in NYC x Design, also slated for May.
A Legacy of Excellence
For over three decades, Design Hotels has established itself as a leader in curating a portfolio of unique, independently owned hotels, each reflecting the distinct vision of its
