Immersive Journey Hiroshima: A New Era of XR Experiences

Hiroshima is set to welcome an exciting new addition to its landscape: the large-scale XR experience facility, IMMERSIVE JOURNEY Hiroshima (tentative title). Developed by CinemaLeap, a creative company based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, and in collaboration with NTT Urban Development Corporation, this center will be located within the commercial facility Paseira in Hiroshima's bustling Naka-ku area. The anticipated opening is planned for the spring of 2027.

What is IMMERSIVE JOURNEY?

The IMMERSIVE JOURNEY concept originated in Yokohama, where the facility opened its doors in December 2024. As one of Japan's largest XR experience sites, it offers visitors a chance to don head-mounted displays (HMDs) and explore expansive spaces, creating the sensation of traveling through fantastical worlds. The unique feature of this experience is the ability for groups of up to four participants to embark on their journeys together, breaking the time and spatial barriers that typically limit such adventures. Users have praised the Yokohama site, expressing sentiments like feeling as though they are genuinely visiting different places and enjoying a new level of immersion compared to traditional VR.

In January 2026, a second location, IMMERSIVE JOURNEY Nagoya, will also launch, marking the first large-scale permanent XR facility in the Tokai region, allowing even more people to engage with this groundbreaking technology.
