A Blooming Celebration at Old Westbury Gardens
On June 7, 2025, the picturesque Old Westbury Gardens came alive for its cherished annual event, the
Gardeners' Fair. This evening marked a gathering of community spirit, luxury, and devotion to the preservation of one of Long Island's historic landmarks. With the grand tent on Eagle Hill setting the scene, friends and advocates of the Gardens celebrated not just the beauty around them but also the purpose behind the evening's festivities.
As guests arrived, they donned elegant spring cocktail attire, showcasing their finest outfits. Among them was the renowned Emmy Award-winning actress,
Susan Lucci, whose presence added a layer of glamour that encapsulated the essence of the evening. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with laughter, excitement, and anticipation for the events scheduled throughout the night.
At the heart of the
Gardeners' Fair was the live auction, helmed by the dynamic auctioneer
Pat Tully. Attendees eagerly participated, bidding on an impressive array of unique offerings that exemplified both luxury and local talent. Highlights included:
- - A private truffle dinner at a beautiful estate in Mill Neck, NY.
- - An extravagant catered party at either the Westbury House or elsewhere in the Gardens.
- - A getaway to a luxurious private home in Vail, Colorado.
- - Exclusive artwork from regional artists like Virginia Pierrepont and Christine Daddario.
- - Customized horticultural packages designed by the dedicated staff of Old Westbury Gardens.
One of the standout moments of the evening was the tribute paid to
Robert A. Bartlett, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Bartlett Tree Experts. His visionary leadership and commitment to the health and vitality of the Gardens' landscapes earned him well-deserved recognition. Maura Brush, President and CEO of Old Westbury Gardens, expressed gratitude for his enduring efforts: "Old Westbury Gardens was proud to honor Robert A. Bartlett at this year's Gardener's Fair. We’re thankful to everyone who joined us for this fun celebration surrounded by beauty and shared love for the Gardens."
Proceeds from the event are instrumental in funding Old Westbury Gardens' core initiatives. These efforts focus on preservation, education, and horticulture, ensuring that the Gardens continue to inspire visitors, young and old, for generations to come. \(To support Old Westbury Gardens, one can explore the variety of giving opportunities on their website.\)
