KIOI STARS Gathering: Experience the Summer Night Sky

On August 20, 2025, the KIOI STARS Gathering: "Enjoying the Summer Night Sky in Yukata" will be held at the Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho. This event, organized by Vixen Co., Ltd., aims to encourage attendees to pause after work and gaze at the enchanting summer evening sky.

Through this initiative, participants can listen to professional star guides as they explore prominent stars such as Vega from Lyra and Altair from Aquila using telescopes and binoculars. It's a unique opportunity to connect with the cosmos and learn more about the vast universe.

Event Highlights

The event, which will run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, will include a lineup of engaging activities:

• - 6:05 PM - 6:30 PM: Introduction to the traditional Tanabata festival.
• - 6:40 PM - 7:00 PM: Star guide session (1).
• - 7:20 PM - 7:40 PM: Star guide session (2).

Participants are welcome to come and go at their leisure, allowing for flexibility in enjoying the various activities.

In addition to stargazing, there will be food trucks serving cold drinks and snacks to enhance the experience. Attendees can also shop for space-themed stationery, accessories, and other merchandise at the celestial goods shop on-site.

Furthermore, the event will be postponed to the following day, August 21, if inclement weather occurs, ensuring that everyone has the chance to enjoy the starry sky.

Meet the Star Guide

One of the highlights of the evening will be Tomoko Ono, a Vixen star advisor and public relations specialist at the National Astronomical Observatory. With a robust background in astronomy, having studied at both university and graduate levels, Tomoko has volunteered in astronomy observation events and worked at a public observatory in Hyogo Prefecture. Her experience helps to convey the wonders of the night sky in a comprehensible way, making the event a perfect educational engagement.
