Cologne Court Upholds Speediance's Design Rights

The Cologne Regional Court recently made a significant ruling in favor of Shenzhen Speediance Life Tech Limited, the creator of the innovative Gym Monster strength training system. The court upheld an interim injunction against Shenzhen Qudong Future Technology Co., Ltd., better known as AEKE, for infringing on Speediance's registered design rights in Germany.

This legal confrontation began shortly after Speediance identified AEKE's disputed fitness equipment at the prestigious FIBO trade fair, an event dedicated to fitness and wellness. Following this discovery, Speediance acted swiftly. On April 16, 2026, the company issued a warning letter to AEKE. The following day, the Cologne Regional Court granted an interim injunction, temporarily halting AEKE from advertising, selling, or offering the infringing products within Germany.

AEKE contested the injunction, leading to a hearing at the Cologne Regional Court on June 25, 2026. However, the court reaffirmed the interim injunction, confirming that the initial ruling from April 17, 2026, was still in effect. This decision means that AEKE is now required to withdraw its infringing products and any associated marketing material from the German market immediately.
