Experience Takkun Appreciation Day 2026!

On August 8, 2026, the Tokyo Hire and Taxi Association will proudly present "Takkun Appreciation Day 2026" from 12 PM to 4 PM at Bellesalle Akihabara, located in Chiyoda, Tokyo. This event is designed as a fun, interactive entertainment experience for families and individuals of all ages.

Fun Activities for Kids and Families

Throughout the event, numerous engaging booths will provide free activities focusing on traffic safety and vehicle education. Some of the highlights include:

• - JAF Kids Service Car Experience: A chance for kids to climb into real service vehicles!
• - Children's Safety License Issuance: Young guests can receive a special license to ensure they feel responsible and engaged with road safety.
• - Driving Simulator Experience: Try your hand at driving through a state-of-the-art simulator, designed to teach important safe driving principles through interactive play.
• - Takkun Stamp Rally & Workshops: Kids aged 15 and under can participate in a stamp rally throughout the venue to collect stamps for exclusive prizes. Also available will be workshops where children can create their own original can badges and a charm called "Omamori."

Exciting Stage Events

In addition to the interactive booths, attendees can enjoy a variety of stage performances, all free to view in the indoor space. Revel in the live music and entertainment from some fantastic idol groups:

• - ARCANA PROJECT
• - Sayonarasteichun
• - Chum Toto

These groups will feature live performances, and after the show, special paid meet-and-greet sessions will be available. Attendees will also have the chance to marvel at nostalgic Japanese street performances, including humorous takes on classic characters and mime acts.

Chum Toto, a brand new idol unit that debuted in April 2025, will captivate the audience, alongside Sayonarasteichun, a six-member female idol group, and ARCANA PROJECT, a vocal team from DEARSTAGE and Lantis.

Taxi Exhibit at the Outdoor Space

Explore the outdoor exhibition featuring Tokyo's taxi vehicles under the initiative "Ikigai Taxi," aimed at enhancing public appreciation for taxi services. From August 1 to 31, 20 specially wrapped taxis featuring winning catchphrases from the public will roam Tokyo. Visitors can see an actual taxi displaying the top winning design and other award-winning panels.

Some of the creative catchphrases include:

• - "Take a taxi, get ready for the sweet life."
• - "Heaven in the cab, late on foot."
• - "Dreaming at home while taking a nap in the cab."
• - "Taxi ride got me looking good!"

Attendees can also marvel at new taxi models and welfare vehicles on display.

Other Fun Activities Await

Beyond these main attractions, there will be even more exciting activities available:

• - A photo opportunity with Takkun himself!
• - Create adorable can badges at the craft workshop.
• - Participate in a cloud-finding activity for lost items, constructing your own personalized "Omamori."
• - Challenge yourself with the Tokyo Taxi Center's geography test.
• - Observe the historical taxi lanterns, various taximeters, super signs, and even automated call robots and breath alcohol testers.

With so many fantastic events lined up, Takkun Appreciation Day 2026 promises a day of education, engagement, and lots of laughter.
