HONOR Unveils Open Collaboration Vision for AI Ecosystem at MWC 2026
On March 2, 2026, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, HONOR revealed its ambitious plan to build an open ecosystem of AI devices. The company is shifting its focus from being primarily a smartphone manufacturer to becoming a global leader in the AI device ecosystem landscape. This transition is anchored by the launch of the HONOR AI Connect platform, which aims to incorporate over 20,000 AI services by the end of this year.
The unveiling took place during the inaugural ConnectAI roundtable, where Fang Fei, President of Products at HONOR, shared insights on the intersection of AI, device technology, and connectivity. The company's commitment to open collaboration was emphasized as it aims to partner with industry leaders to break new ground in categories such as educational tools, smart home devices, audio products, and even pet and toy tech.
Fang Fei drew parallels to the Cambrian Explosion in evolutionary history, suggesting that the tech industry stands on the brink of a similar explosive diversification in smart devices. According to her,
