Experience the Taste of Hachinohe
On November 8th, 2025, join us at K,D,C in Shin-Okubo for a special event that celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture. The event, featuring the esteemed culinary researcher and writer Tsurezure Hanako, will showcase the seasonal delights of Hachinohe and its surrounding areas.
Hachinohe is renowned for its abundant seafood, including the finest sardines, and is recognized as the top location in Japan for squid catch. Throughout the event, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of original dishes created specifically for this occasion, highlighting both the freshness and the unique flavors of Hachinohe’s ingredients, including traditional vegetables and premium brand beef.
Guests will not only taste but also learn about the local food culture through engaging discussions with producers. Furthermore, after the main event, a mini-market will be held, giving participants a chance to take home the flavors of Hachinohe.
Event Details
The tasting event will be held in two sessions on the same day:
- - Session 1: November 8, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM (Registration starts at 12:15 PM)
- - Session 2: November 8, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM (Registration starts at 4:45 PM)
Each session will conclude with a 30-minute mini-market where guests can explore and purchase local goods. This is a rare chance to experience the seasonal delicacies of Hachinohe paired with specially selected drinks, including Japanese sake, wine, and cider. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available, highlighting local soft drinks from Aomori Prefecture.

Culinary Offerings
During the event, attendees will be introduced to a carefully curated tasting menu crafted by Tsurezure Hanako. The menu will include:
- - Appetizers: A plate featuring three types of Hachinohe snacks (grilled long yam with salted fermented fish, Hachinohe Marihime beef rillettes with sardine cream cheese, and seaweed burdock chips).
- - Carpaccio: Nambu edible chrysanthemum and flounder carpaccio.
- - Soup: A local dish made with kakke and whale meat soup.
- - Main Course: A tasting of three mini steaks from Hachinohe Marihime beef.
- - Rice: Onigiri (rice balls) with salmon roe using locally sourced rice.
- - Dessert: Seasonal apples paired with the traditional sweet, Mameshitogi.
Please note that certain food allergens will be present, including apples, eggs, dairy, wheat, sardines, sesame, soybeans, yam, beef, and salmon roe. Due to factors such as weather and availability, menu items may change on the day of the event, so please inform staff of any allergies to ensure a safe experience.
