Join the Exciting Lumi's Utopia 2026 Drawing Contest for Kids

Lumi's Utopia 2026 Drawing Contest

The LuminoCity Festival is back with its beloved annual children's art competition, Lumi's Utopia. 2026 marks the sixth year of this exciting event, aimed at encouraging young artists to bring their imaginative ideas to life. This year, the festival is thrilled to collaborate with the Long Island Children's Museum (LICM) and welcomes WE ART Education as a supporting partner.

The theme for this year's contest is Dino Friends, inviting children to create their very own original dinosaur characters. With this theme, participants can express their creativity in a fun and vibrant way. Submissions are open from March 30 to May 31, 2026, and children are encouraged to attend several in-person workshops hosted by LICM on April 6 and April 8, where they will learn tips and techniques for creating their art pieces.

Xiaoyi Chen, CEO and Founder of LuminoCity, expressed his excitement about the ongoing collaboration with LICM, noting, "Lumi's Utopia gives every child a chance for their imagination to shine. The compelling light displays that emerge from it go beyond mere art; they've become part of the community fabric that binds us together each holiday season."

Erika Floreska, President of LICM, echoed these sentiments, stating, "Working with LuminoCity brings families together, building community through play while celebrating creativity and connection. We aim to transform children’s artwork into meaningful illuminated experiences."

Through a blend of in-person workshops and online submissions, kids will have the opportunity to see their 2D creations transformed into stunning 3D light sculptures, thereby bridging their artistic expressions with technology. This collaboration illuminates the importance of teamwork and community involvement in nurturing young talent.

Additionally, Principal Zhou, Founder of WE ART Education, added, "Every child is a natural storyteller. We're excited to join Lumi's Utopia this year and witness those stories illuminated."

As part of the contest, selected artworks will be featured at the 2026 LuminoCity Holiday Lights Festival in East Meadow, New York. This event is not just an art contest; it's a celebration of creativity with the potential to inspire the entire community.

Apart from the drawing contest, attendees can look forward to LuminoCity's Dino Safari event this September at Walt Whitman Shops, offering visitors close encounters with larger-than-life dinosaurs. Super Early Bird tickets for this family-friendly attraction are already available for purchase, making it an unmissable experience!

In summary, Lumi's Utopia 2026 is a splendid opportunity for children to showcase their talents in a nurturing environment. Parents and guardians are encouraged to guide their little artists in participating in this creative journey. Join in the fun and transform imagination into reality. Whether through workshops or submissions, let the Dino Friends theme ignite your child’s artistic expression.
