Discover the Autumn Delight: Chocolate Mont Blanc
The elegance of the Japanese chestnut, especially the renowned Kasama variety, takes center stage in a special creation by Minimal - Bean to Bar Chocolate. From October 1, 2025, the Chocolate Mont Blanc will be available at their main store in Tomigaya, Tokyo, promising a luxurious experience that merges high-quality chocolate with the delightful flavors of autumn.
The Special Mont Blanc Featuring Kasama Chestnuts
This limited-edition dessert brings out the rich sweetness and fragrance of the Kasama chestnuts, known for their exceptional quality from Ibaraki Prefecture. Sourced from the Odaki Shoten, each chestnut is carefully selected and enhanced through skilled craftsmanship. The Chocolate Mont Blanc harmoniously combines two different chocolate types with the chestnut's unique qualities, resulting in an unparalleled dessert that showcases the essence of fall.
Two Distinct Chocolate Flavors
- - Classic Chocolate Ice Cream: The base features a crispy meringue layer topped with a light cream and chestnut candied in its peel. Further elevating this dessert is the smooth Classic chocolate ice cream, crafted from fine Ghanaian cacao beans. The ice cream introduces a rich and creamy sweetness, perfectly complementing the delicate, earthy notes of the Kasama chestnuts.
- - Fruity Chocolate Paste: Surrounding the Mont Blanc is a blend of chestnut paste and a unique fruity chocolate paste made from Madagascar cacao. This combination provides a delightful depth to the dessert, allowing the chestnut flavor to shine through while being rounded out by the chocolate’s vibrant fruity notes.
To finish, a sprinkle of chestnut candied in peel adds an inviting crunch, accompanied by a tart cherry sauce to counterbalance the sweetness and cacao nibs for crunchy texture. Each bite offers a symphony of flavors and textures, ensuring that the dessert remains engaging and enjoyable until the very last spoonful.
The Rich History of Kasama Chestnuts
Kasama, particularly the Iwama district in Ibaraki, is celebrated for its volcanic ash soils that optimize chestnut cultivation. The area’s favorable climate allows for a gradual accumulation of sweetness in these nuts, which the local artisans from Odaki Shoten carefully harvest. They utilize low-temperature aging and specific processing methods tailored to each crop to maximize the chestnuts' natural aroma and taste.
