GPS Air Unveils smartIAQ™ Clean Air Technology at 2025 AHR Expo in Orlando

GPS Air Introduces smartIAQ™

GPS Air has officially launched smartIAQ™, an innovative clean air system, at the 2025 AHR Expo in Orlando, Florida. The product promises to simplify adherence to the ASHRAE's Indoor Air Quality Procedure (IAQP) while providing significant equipment and energy savings.

What is smartIAQ™?

smartIAQ™ stands out as the first intelligent system crafted specifically to monitor and ensure high indoor air quality with minimal hassle. The heart of this technology lies in its solid-state sensor array that aligns with ASHRAE 62.1 standards, effectively cleaning air on-demand. This means that it can adapt its cleaning functionalities based on real-time air quality requirements.

Key Benefits

One of the most compelling aspects of smartIAQ™ is its ability to safely reduce outdoor air intake requirements through advanced in-space air cleaning. As a result, it offers immediate financial benefits by enabling smaller, simpler HVAC system designs, ultimately leading to reduced annual energy costs. The system is estimated to save up to $2 per square foot in energy expenses by lowering heating and cooling loads.

The filtration system connected to smartIAQ™ adheres to ASHRAE Standards 52.2 and 145.2, with a lifespan exceeding a year under typical conditions, making it not just effective, but also economical.

Enhancing Energy Efficiency

Audwin Cash, CEO of GPS Air, emphasizes the potential of IAQP as a significant yet often overlooked opportunity for energy savings in buildings. He explains, "smartIAQ™ cleans air on demand, like motion sensors for electric lighting. The system enters monitor mode when air quality is acceptable, thereby conserving energy and prolonging filter use. When air quality metrics signal need, smartIAQ™ automatically ramps up its air purification efforts."

The advanced sensors not only measure typical air contaminants like TVOCs, CO2, and formaldehyde, but they also keep track of particulate matter (PM1.0, PM2.5, PM4.0, PM10) levels. Operating at near-silent levels, the smartIAQ™ integrates effortlessly into various indoor environments while ensuring comprehensive air cleaning through its integrated filtration and Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (NPBI®) technology.

Supporting Implementation

To facilitate easy adoption, GPS Air has rolled out the smartIAQ Calculator, designed from ASHRAE standards to confirm compliance while showcasing tangible equipment and energy savings. This user-friendly tool allows for quick compliance checks against IAQP standards, all while showcasing estimates for energy costs over diverse project types.

The technology marks a pivotal advancement in implementing IAQP, recognized by ASHRAE as the optimal approach for managing indoor air quality within its 62.1-2019 Design Manual. smartIAQ™ makes the implementation process less complex and reduces risks while ensuring extra air-cleaning capacity during variable conditions like occupancy and outdoor air quality fluctuations.

Visit Us at the AHR Expo

GPS Air's product innovation will be on full display at the AHR Expo in Orlando from February 10th to 12th. Attendees are encouraged to stop by booth 8151 for a firsthand look at how smartIAQ™ can revolutionize building indoor air quality while concurrently driving down energy costs.
