Sakura City Launches First Music Video Project
In a groundbreaking initiative, Sakura City, located in Chiba Prefecture, has embarked on its very first music video production project in collaboration with a local creator training school. The goal of this project is to nurture young talent in the creative field, particularly those pursuing careers in video editing and film production.
Film Commission Support
The city has provided essential filming locations and support to enhance the learning experience of students from the Bantan Creator Academy in Tokyo. This endeavor, which involves creating a music video as a part of their intermediate assignment, is designed to offer students a hands-on experience that closely resembles a professional production environment.
Shooting Details
Filming began early in the morning under the intense rays of the sun, emphasizing the commitment of the students. They engaged in the technical challenges of equipment setup, management within their teams, and long hours of shooting, all of which contribute to an enriching learning atmosphere, much beyond what typical classroom settings could offer.
In a notable addition, a virtual bus stop was installed at the Inbanuma parking lot to serve as a practical filming locale. This innovative step demonstrates the city's dedication to providing realistic conditions that mirror real-world scenarios in filmmaking.
Learning Through Experience
Rina Konishi, a staff member from Bantan Creator Academy, shared her thoughts on the significance of this project: “Through this shoot, our students garnered invaluable experience that they could not replicate in the classroom. The collaboration with Sakura City allowed us to create an environment where students could express their evolving emotions and showcase their growth amid a stable yet dynamic scenery.”
This hands-on approach enabled students to gain significant insights into the filmmaking process, transforming the production from a mere assignment into a comprehensive learning experience.
Sakura City's Vision
The Sakura Film Commission is focused not only on increasing the number of shooting incidences but also on the quality and potential impact of the productions that take place within the city. By supporting young creators in practical endeavors like this, the hope is to foster their growth while simultaneously positioning Sakura City as a memorable site for future filmmakers.
The city’s public transportation service also aided the filming process, contributing to the collaborative spirit of the project.
Looking Ahead
The music video produced by the students is slated for release on October 10, 2025. As the students prepare to unveil their work, the support from Sakura City highlights the importance of community involvement in the cultivation of future creative talents.
With such initiatives, Sakura not only nurtures the artists of tomorrow but also strengthens its position as a vibrant location in the film production landscape.
