Central Phuket Marks Six Successful Years with Expansive Luxury Offerings

Central Phuket Marks Six Years of Luxury Growth

Central Phuket, a leading shopping destination, recently celebrated its sixth anniversary by announcing a significant expansion of its Floresta Zone. With an impressive investment of THB 1 billion, this initiative is designed to enhance the luxury offerings of this popular shopping center. This ambitious undertaking aims to solidify Phuket's status as a premier global luxury destination.

According to Dr. Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Chief Marketing Officer for Central Pattana plc, Phuket is positioned alongside other iconic luxury destinations like Hawaii, Monaco, and Santorini. The province is experiencing substantial growth in tourism revenue, projected to reach THB 500 billion by 2024, which represents a 28% increase compared to the previous year. The average spending per tourist has also seen an uptick to THB 34,336.

The expansion will increase the Floresta Zone's space from 180,000 to 200,000 square meters and boost the number of luxury brands featured from 16 to 25. Notable luxury brands available will include renowned names like Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Bulgari, Dior, Gucci, Hermès, and Louis Vuitton. Exciting developments in this expansion include the following:
  • - Louis Vuitton's boutique: The largest in Southern Thailand.
  • - Prada: Will house the largest boutique in Thailand at 597 square meters.
  • - Tiffany & Co.: A flagship store will be introduced.
  • - Bulgari: Launching its first pop-up store outside Bangkok.
  • - Celine: Set to open in December 2024.
  • - Lululemon: The first store outside Bangkok.
  • - ZARA: A flagship store, which will be the largest in Southeast Asia at 1,800 square meters.

Currently, Central Phuket attracts around 80,000 visitors daily, with expectations to rise to 100,000 after the expansion is complete. An impressive 70% of these visitors are international, predominantly hailing from Russia, China, the United States, and Singapore. Interestingly, members of Central Phuket typically spend five times more than patrons of other malls in the region.

The luxury tourism status of Phuket is further supported by major infrastructure enhancements, including expansions at the international airport, which is poised to accommodate 18 million passengers. This includes Thailand's inaugural 5-star private jet terminal, capable of hosting 156 private jets on an annual basis. Moreover, the area boasts over 15 luxury brands, exquisite dining experiences such as Su Va Na, recognized globally as the premier underwater restaurant, and five superyacht marinas.

Phuket is also home to 28 Michelin-starred restaurants and features 16 world-class golf courses, alongside nine state-of-the-art hospitals and 13 international schools that contribute to its appeal as a luxury destination.

To celebrate this milestone, Central Phuket has launched the campaign “LIVE. LUXE. LOVE.” This includes exclusive promotions such as a VIP trip to Finland for those who spend THB 8 million, and The 1 member privileges offering e-vouchers worth up to THB 6,000 and up to 17% cashback with participating credit cards.

As Central Phuket continues to grow, it reinforces its commitment to elevating the island's position among the world's elite luxury lifestyle destinations. Following its expansion, Central Phuket will surely attract even more luxury lifestyle seekers, reflecting the shifting landscape of tourism in Thailand.
