Celebrating Farming Heritage: AGCO's 'Legacies of the Land' Campaign
In a heartfelt tribute to America's rich agricultural legacy, AGCO Corporation has officially launched its latest initiative, 'Legacies of the Land'. This nationwide storytelling effort is designed to honor the farming families who have played a vital role in shaping the agricultural landscape of the United States, marking the country's 250th anniversary.
A Call to Share Stories
The campaign invites farming families from coast to coast to share their unique histories and experiences, creating a tapestry that illustrates America's agricultural journey. Using the hashtag
#LandLegacies, families are encouraged to contribute photos, videos, and personal stories that encapsulate their farming heritage. The aim is to foster a sense of community and connection, as these stories will collectively create a living chronicle of American farming across generations.
AGCO's Chairman, President and CEO, Eric Hansotia, expresses a profound belief in the importance of these narratives:
"Every farming family has a story worth telling, rooted in resilience, stewardship and love for the land." Such sentiments underline the campaign’s ethos of valuing individual contributions to a larger national history.
Kickoff With Inspiring Stories
To launch the campaign, AGCO has spotlighted three distinguished multi-generational farming families: Lehenbauer Farms from Palmyra, Missouri; Matthews Land & Cattle from Oakley, Idaho; and Riney Dairy from Springfield, Kentucky. Their journeys exemplify the enduring legacy of American farmers.
Mark Lehenbauer, part of a family that has farmed in Missouri for generations, shared his hopes for future generations:
"I hope that 100 or 200 years from now, somebody can sit here and share how we helped leave the world in a better place." His perspective encapsulates the depth of commitment and care that defines farming life.
John Riney, a tenth-generation farmer in central Kentucky, reflects on his family's historical impact while stating,
"After doing all the research and seeing that I'm the 10th generation to farm in central Kentucky, it really opened my eyes to the legacy that we have here." Together, these stories form the cornerstone of AGCO’s campaign, bringing to light the tireless work and dedication of farming families across America.
Engaging the Community
In addition to fostering the sharing of stories, the campaign also features an interactive story wall on its dedicated landing page, where contributions will be showcased. Farmers can visit
Legacies of the Land to see how their experiences integrate into the broader narratives of American agriculture. Throughout the summer, AGCO aims to collect and honor these stories, ensuring that the voices of farming families resonate with the nation's history.
Commitment to Farmers
'Legacies of the Land' embodies AGCO's commitment to its Farmer-First strategy, which prioritizes the needs and contributions of farmers across its renowned brands, including Fendt™, Massey Ferguson™, and Valtra™. These brands aim to empower farmers with innovative technologies and solutions that promote productivity while sustainably feeding the world.
As the campaign progresses, AGCO continues to encourage the farming community and beyond to engage with #LandLegacies. By sharing and celebrating the unique narratives of farming families, the campaign aims not only to honor the past but to inspire future generations in the agricultural sector, reaffirming their place in American history.
