Imperial Springs International Forum 2024: Bridging Global Dialogues in Madrid
On December 11 and 12, 2024, Madrid will become the inaugural host of the Imperial Springs International Forum (ISIF), marking a significant milestone in its history. This year’s event, co-organized by the prestigious Club de Madrid, will gather over 130 leaders, dignitaries, and experts from more than 40 countries, emphasizing a committed effort towards multilateral dialogue, particularly with Chinese representatives.
The theme for ISIF 2024, 'Collective Action for One Future', aims to address urgent global challenges ranging from peace and security to advancements in green technology and artificial intelligence. Among the notable participants this year will be former heads of state, scholars, and representatives from various international organizations, including delegations from both the Chinese and Spanish governments. The Mayor of Madrid will participate as a key institutional partner, showcasing the local government’s commitment to international discourse.
This year's forum aims to explore cooperative solutions in an increasingly polarized world, focusing on enhancing multilateralism and development finance. Danilo Türk, President of the Club de Madrid, emphasized the importance of creating constructive dialogue opportunities with major global actors. He stated, “In these complex times, multilateralism and partnerships are vital to tackle challenges affecting societies worldwide.”
Historically, the ISIF has been held in Guangzhou, China, since its inception in 2016, fostering dialogue among influential leaders, experts, and diplomats to enhance mutual understanding and collaboration. This year’s transition to Madrid not only highlights the expanding geographical scope of the forum but also reflects the increasing importance of dialogue beyond traditional boundaries.
