A Sweet Tribute to Gratitude: The Launch of Peaceful Macaron
On May 2, 2023, Boulmich, led by President Makoto Kiyama, will unveil a special edition of their beloved macaron, named "Peaceful Macaron." This unique release is a collaboration with food art creator Izumi Kamoshida, emphasizing the theme of SDGs Goal 10: "Reduce Inequality Within and Among Countries." With this initiative, Boulmich hopes to promote awareness about sustainable development while enriching customers' experiences with delightful pastries.
The Inspiration Behind Peaceful Macaron
The project revolves around acknowledging the importance of diversity, represented through seasonal flower designs featured in the macarons. Kamoshida has embodied the essence of coexistence and understanding through motifs that depict two different flowers. Each flower signifies the beauty of diversity, florishing in unique ways.
The featured flowers are the carnation and the Annabelle hydrangea, representing not just visual beauty but deep meanings associated with love and gratitude. The carnation symbolizes "innocent and deep love," which is often gifted on Mother’s Day in the United States, while the Annabelle hydrangea signifies "earnest love," portraying unwavering affection and gratitude through its resilient bloom in varying environments.
A Language of Thanks
Each macaron is stamped with the phrase "Thank you" in various languages, further highlighting the theme of appreciation. This allows customers from different backgrounds to connect with the sentiments of gratitude and appreciation that the Peaceful Macaron seeks to promote.
Special Designs for May and June
Set to be available for May and June, the Peaceful Macaron will feature two distinct varieties:
- - Peaceful Macaron [Thank You] (Vanilla) - Priced at ¥270 (Tax included). This version brings a velvety vanilla cream texture that melts delightfully in the mouth.
- - Peaceful Macaron [Thank You] (Raspberry) - Priced at ¥270 (Tax included). It offers an exquisite balance of sweet and tart flavors, catering to differing taste preferences.
In addition to these options, sets containing two or three macarons will also be offered, allowing for a variety of choices.
Engaging Consumers Through Art
To further engage the audience in understanding the significance of SDGs, Kamoshida will also release a picture book titled "Peaceful Macaron" through social media channels. Original artwork from the book will be showcased at the Boulmich Ginza main store, blending artistry with sustainability education.
Izumi Kamoshida, notable for her food art and various collaborations with major brands, is focused on integrating art into tangible products. Her work not only populates illustrations in magazines but also supports food manufacturers in package design. Through this collaboration with Boulmich, Kamoshida emphasizes the theme of transforming art into commercial products, demonstrating the intersection of creativity and culinary innovation.
