Unisys Reports Robust Third Quarter 2026 Results with Increased Revenue and Business Signings

Unisys Corporation Reports Strong Financial Results for Q3 2026

Unisys Corporation, a global technology solutions leader, unveiled its financial performance for the third quarter of 2026, reporting a revenue increase of 2.5% year over year, amounting to $471.5 million. This growth indicates a steady upward trend following a solid showing in the first half of the year. The company’s Technology Solutions and Services (TSS) division contributed significantly, yielding revenue of $387.1 million, a 2.6% rise compared to the same quarter in 2025.

At the helm, CEO Michael Thomson expressed optimism regarding the year’s momentum, highlighting the strong client interest across its diverse portfolio. Thomson remarked on the company’s strategic shift towards an AI-first approach, which is opening new market opportunities within agentic services, AI infrastructure, and the ClearPath ecosystem.

Financial Highlights

Unisys’s third-quarter results reflect not only revenue growth but also improved profit margins. The company achieved a gross profit margin of 26.7%, representing a 120 basis points improvement year over year. The operating profit margin also saw a positive turnaround, reaching 5.0%, alongside a non-GAAP operating profit margin of 7.2%, an increase of 180 basis points.

In total, Unisys reported a New Business Total Contract Value (TCV) of $221 million, marking a remarkable 78% increase compared to the prior year. Part of the financial maneuvers included the purchase of a group annuity contract aimed at significantly reducing the projected pension liabilities—around $200 million—funded through plan assets.

Segment Performance

Breaking down the figures, the Digital Workplace Solutions (DWS) segment recorded a revenue of $130.2 million, up by 3.9% year-over-year, while the Cloud, Applications & Infrastructure Solutions (CAI) segment witnessed a slight decline of 0.1%, totaling $180.3 million. The standout performer was the Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS) segment, featuring a 5.6% increase in revenue, reaching $140.6 million. This was driven by an uptick in specialized project work.

Despite the positive revenue trajectory, Unisys noted challenges, particularly in gross profit margins, affected by higher costs and known client attrition. The company's financial performance during this quarter has set the stage for an upward revision in its full-year revenue guidance, reaffirming both its revenue and profitability targets for 2026.

Looking Ahead

As Unisys gears up for the upcoming quarter, management remains enthusiastic about their fourth-quarter visibility. CFO Deb McCann noted that the company's results surpass expectations, particularly in TSS, allowing for an increase in the full-year 2026 revenue outlook. The focus will remain on enhancing operational efficiencies and capitalizing on advancements in their technological solutions to further drive growth.

Moreover, Unisys will host a conference call with financial analysts to unpack these results in detail and provide insights into future strategies. The discussion is anticipated to shed light on how the company plans to navigate market challenges and leverage its innovative solutions for sustained growth.

Unisys's commitment to improving its financial health through strategic initiatives indicates a proactive approach to maintaining its leadership in the technology solutions sector. With plans to complete further pension settlements in the near future, the company remains positioned for a promising financial trajectory well into 2027 and beyond.
