Exciting New Platform Canvas βase SHIBUYA Opens at Shibuya Station

Canvas βase SHIBUYA Opens: A New Business Opportunity

On October 2, 2025, Tokyu Malls Development will unveil the Canvas βase SHIBUYA, a pioneering new platform aimed at supporting businesses seeking to expand their operations. Located directly connected to Shibuya Station in the bustling underground space known as Shibu Chika, this pop-up shop concept is designed to provide a risk-free environment for various businesses to explore retail opportunities in one of the world’s busiest transit hubs.

The Canvas βase Concept

Launched initially in March 2024 inside Musashi-Kosugi Station by Tokyu Malls, the Canvas βase platform prioritizes accessibility and minimizes startup risks for vendors. Its interior boasts a simple design, adjustable fixtures, digital displays, and all necessary sales equipment, allowing businesses to set up shop on a commission-based rent model. This innovative approach has already facilitated partnerships with over 510 businesses, resulting in 49 successful retail expansions.

The decision to open Canvas βase SHIBUYA stems from a strong desire to provide more avenues for businesses to make customer connections, leveraging the approximately 2.88 million passengers that pass through Shibuya Station daily. This central location is known for being a breeding ground for new trends and businesses, promising high exposure even for temporary vendors.

Canvas βase aims to foster not only connections between businesses and customers but also inspiration and new collaborations within the business community. Shibuya promises an ideal setting as it continues to draw in fresh business ideas and consumer interest.

Highlights of the Launch

Numerous food vendors are expected to set up shop, utilizing the insights and connections gained from the first Canvas βase location. This new initiative at Canvas βase SHIBUYA will promote brand development, scaling opportunities, and ongoing retail presence through its collaborative support system.

Tokyu Malls Development is committed to enhancing the appeal of the Tokyu Line area through unique commercial spaces that are well-loved by the local community, ultimately enriching their everyday lives. With the Canvas βase locations, they aim to attract diverse retailers and generate a vibrant shopping atmosphere that keeps consumers coming back for more.
