element14 Community Launches Smart Vehicle Design Challenge

The element14 Community, a technology hub under the Avnet Group, has initiated an exciting challenge for engineers, makers, and tech enthusiasts to design and build innovative prototypes focused on the future of electric and intelligent vehicles. This Smart Transport Design Challenge is calling for participants to tackle pressing real-world issues, such as obstacle avoidance, battery optimization, vehicle safety, and system efficiency, with the aim of creating prototypes of smart electric vehicles or intelligent systems engineered for next-generation transportation.

Selected participants will receive complimentary component kits to aid them in designing and constructing their prototypes or test rigs. They will also be required to document their build process through blog posts to share the final results. The entries will be evaluated based on originality, technical excellence, and innovative use of the provided components.

Prizes and Entry Details

The competition features exciting rewards for the top participants. The overall winner will be awarded a smart electric scooter, a smart LED bike helmet, and a bionic robotic dog, while the second place will receive a bionic robotic dog and the third place will get an off-road unmanned ground vehicle. Additionally, all participants who succeed in completing the challenge will receive a 400A AC/DC clamp meter.

Submissions are currently open, and the deadline to enter is June 7. Selected participants must complete and submit their projects by August 16.
