Karma Amaris Set to Dazzle at Monterey Car Week with Revolutionary Design and Performance Features

The Rise of the Karma Amaris at Monterey Car Week

The anticipation surrounding the Karma Amaris, the world's first hybrid Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) luxury coupé, is palpable as it prepares for its grand debut during the prestigious Monterey Car Week. Scheduled to be unveiled fully on August 15 and showcased on the renowned Concept Lawn at the 74th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 17, this remarkable vehicle promises to redefine the landscape of luxury performance automobiles.

Initially teased during the last spring, the outside allure of the Amaris caught the attention of automotive enthusiasts globally. However, the reveal at Monterey will encompass more than just its striking exterior; it will also delve into the elegance of its interior cabin, aimed at providing an opulent experience for drivers and passengers alike.

Exceptional Performance

Boasting a staggering 708 horsepower and 676 ft-lbs of torque, the Amaris can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.5 seconds, reaching a top electronically governed speed of 165 mph. This thrilling performance is underpinned by its revolutionary Hybrid EREV powertrain, featuring two electric motors propelling its rear wheels, supported by a 41.5 kWh battery and a 4-cylinder turbocharged internal combustion engine (ICE) generator. This combination allows for over 100 miles of electric-only driving and a substantial 400 miles of combined range.

Amaris delivers all the joys of a performance coupé — breathtaking speed, stunning design, and luxurious interior amenities — while maintaining an ultra-low emissions profile,” notes Marques McCammon, President and CEO of Karma Automotive. “It truly enables the freedom to choose between gasoline and electric refueling as per convenience.”

Innovative Design Features

The body of the Amaris is a masterclass in craftsmanship, combining carbon fiber and aluminum for a powerful yet elegant appearance, epitomized by its eye-catching Solar Blaze Red paintwork, specially designed for its debut. Reflecting Karma's Comet Line design language, the vehicle's aesthetic features sculpted lines that emphasize its agility and sporty character, complemented by 22-inch Constellation wheels constructed from forged aluminum. The fluidity of its design is further showcased through unique elements like the clamshell hood that sports Karma's Target Lighting signature, enhancing its visual appeal.

The cockpit of the Amaris embodies refinement and modern technology. The interior is decked in Crimson Orbit leather and suede, paired with carbon fiber and piano black accents, creating a luxurious ambiance. Its glass roof is electro-chromatically adjustable, allowing customization of light and atmosphere within. Furthermore, the innovative design includes intuitive features such as hidden cupholders and a co-pilot display that activates upon passenger seating, adhering to Karma's principle of a reductionary approach to design.

A Glimpse into the Future

Karma Automotive aims to revolutionize the ultra-luxury automotive market with the launch of the Amaris set for Q4 2026, with an expected starting price around $200,000 USD. This eagerly anticipated release will join the Karma lineup alongside the Kaveya super-coupé, set to arrive in 2027, and the Gyesera four-seater in 2025. Commenting on the brand’s future vision, McCammon emphasizes the commitment to innovation and sustainability, noting the impact of Karma's vehicles on the environment while providing unmatched performance.

As the automotive community awaits Monterey Car Week, the Karma Amaris stands as a testament to the potential of electric mobility fused with luxurious performance—a next-generation vehicle that is ready to make a striking statement on both the road and at the event. With its launch, Karma Automotive reinforces its position as a leader in redefining luxury cars, harmonizing performance, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology.
