On November 29, 2025, St. Vincent's Santa Barbara will host its 15th Annual Fashion Show & Luncheon at the scenic Rosewood Miramar Beach. This event is not just another gala; it marks nearly three decades of unwavering support for at-risk mothers and their children. The focus will be on the incredible achievements of the Family Strengthening Program, which has been a beacon of hope since its inception in 1996.

Keynote Speaker: A Journey of Transformation

This year, attendees will be inspired by Alicia Visueta, a graduate from the Family Strengthening Program who now serves as a Peer Support Specialist at St. Vincent's. Thanks to the Women's Fund of Santa Barbara, Alicia now plays a crucial role in guiding other mothers through similar challenges she once faced. Her story encapsulates the essence of transformation and empowerment—demonstrating that those who have walked the path can foster early engagement and lead others toward positive outcomes.

Joining Alicia will be Elizabeth, another remarkable participant who is on her journey to success. After a challenging start that led her to the Transition House, Elizabeth is now thriving, completing her first semester at California Lutheran University while working two jobs. Her story reflects the impact of community support and personal resolve.

The Legacy of Compassion

The Fashion Show Luncheon is deeply rooted in compassion and community initiative, founded 15 years ago by devoted supporters Claudia Lash and Pat Lupo. Over the past eight years, their tireless efforts have raised more than $400,000, highlighting their commitment to empower Santa Barbara's most vulnerable families. Their signature silent auction baskets showcase curated items that invite community participation and support.

Real Change, Real Lives

For almost thirty years, St. Vincent's has provided more than shelter; it has offered dignity and a pathway to a brighter future. The Family Strengthening Program is a comprehensive 27-month initiative designed to address the multifaceted needs of at-risk mothers. This program includes transitional housing, case management, job training, parenting classes, and childcare. Remarkably, in just four years, 52 families have transitioned to permanent housing and stable employment. Participants have witnessed an average increase of over $600 in monthly income, showcasing tangible change for families in crisis.

Among the many inspiring stories is that of a young mother who arrived homeless and pregnant. Today, she is pursuing accounting at SBCC while her child excels in St. Vincent's Early Childhood Education Center. Another mother, who escaped a dire domestic situation, is on track to become a criminal defense attorney, all thanks to the support she received from St. Vincent's.

Event Highlights

Guests at the luncheon can expect an afternoon of elegance filled with stylish offerings, gourmet dining, and a silent auction featuring unique experiences and gift baskets. Notable sponsors, like American Riviera Bank and Chumash Casino, highlight the community's commitment to the cause. Popular local personalities Tracy Lehr and Drew Wakefield will return as Emcees, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
