Experience the KUBOTA Afternoon Tea at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo
The Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, situated in Bunkyo, Tokyo, is delighted to announce the launch of a new dining experience called the "KUBOTA Afternoon Tea," starting from September 9, 2025. This delightful event will take place in the Japanese-style restaurant "Kinsui," which is beautifully located by the garden's Kinkon Pond. The afternoon tea celebrates the 40th anniversary of the esteemed sake brand KUBOTA and the 100th anniversary of the iconic three-story pagoda in the hotel garden, offering a unique culinary experience.
A Celebration of Season and Tradition
This year's afternoon tea features an exquisite selection of 13 varieties of KUBOTA sake, promising guests a rich exploration of flavors. The collaboration started in 2021 with a vision to evolve and promote Japanese culture, marking this special event as the eighth occurrence.
The top tier of the afternoon tea presents six carefully curated sweets, showcasing the essence of autumn. Highlights include:
- - Citrus Jelly and Kabosu: A refreshing two-layer jelly featuring sweet orange and kabosu, infused with KUBOTA Suiju and garnished with pickled kabosu peel.
- - Sweet Potato Cake: The sweetness of pumpkin is elevated by the subtle aroma of KUBOTA Benju.
- - Persimmon Cheesecake: Harmony of cheese blended with KUBOTA Senju and sweet dried persimmon.
- - Apple Tart: Featuring moist baked apples paired with the fragrant KUBOTA Hyakujyu.
- - Chocolat Salami: An indulgent blend of sake lees, pistachios, and chocolate, enriched by KUBOTA Banshu.
Accompanying the scones, guests can enjoy clotted cream infused with umami-rich KUBOTA Aojyu.
The lower tier offers an array of savory options, with eight seasonal dishes crafted to highlight flavors and textures:
- - Seasonal White Dressed Dish: A delicate treat flavored with the aroma of KUBOTA Banshu.
- - Chestnut Croquette: Celebrating the essence of autumn with chestnuts and sweet potatoes.
- - Camembert with Sake Sauce: A perfect pairing of creaminess and umami with sake-marinated egg yolks.
- - Sake-Roasted Ginkgo Nuts: A seasonal dish roasted in KUBOTA Senju’s flavor.
A separate presentation of assorted dishes includes:
- - Matsutake Dofu: A fragrant stew of matsutake mushrooms and three-leaf clover.
- - Variations of Sushi: Featuring mackerel sushi with persimmons and a pressed sushi crafted with red seabream and leaves.
- - Sweet Pear Soup: A delightful blend of pear compote and KUBOTA Koji Amazake, made extra comforting with KUBOTA Senju Junmai Ginjo.
Wine Pairings and Souvenirs
Guests can experience a sake tasting set, sampling three notable varieties: KUBOTA Banshu with proprietary yeast, KUBOTA Banshu, and KUBOTA Senju’s autumn expression, with optional pairings available. A unique souvenir, custom KUBOTA and Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo-branded sake cup, awaits each participant as a memento of their visit.
