Celebrating Aging Life Care Month
In May, the Aging Life Care Association® (ALCA) is excited to present a series of free sessions as part of its celebration of National Aging Life Care Month. These sessions, titled 'Ask an Aging Life Care Manager®', are designed to provide family caregivers, solo-agers, and anyone dealing with the complexities of aging a platform to seek professional advice. Held on Fridays throughout the month, these small group discussions offer an intimate setting for individuals to ask questions and receive personalized guidance from established Aging Life Care Professionals.
Each session lasts 45 minutes and is intentionally limited in size, ensuring attendees can engage openly and receive comprehensive assistance. Whether you are responsible for an aging loved one, preparing for your own aging journey as a solo-ager, or simply interested in the resources available, these sessions are focused on fostering understanding, comfort, and connections to further support.
As Nina Pflumm Herndon, ALCA's President, states, 'These sessions give us a chance to contribute back to the community and highlight the important services our professionals deliver.' Participants will discover an array of Aging Life Care™ services, including initial assessments, care coordination, advocacy, and support navigating healthcare and housing transitions. This framework empowers families and individuals to make informed decisions regarding their aging care needs.
ALCA proudly marks its 14th year of promoting National Aging Life Care Month, aiming not only to increase awareness about available professional services but also to attract new talent to this flourishing field. Aging Life Care Managers boast diverse backgrounds spanning social work, nursing, gerontology, mental health, and various therapeutic disciplines, which positions them uniquely to address aging-related challenges.
To register for the 'Ask an Aging Life Care Manager' series, participants are encouraged to sign up promptly, as spots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Detailed information and registration links can be found on the ALCA's website at aginglifecare.org.
