Smartee Strengthens European Presence with Innovative Jaw Alignment Technology at ALIGNEA 2026 Conference

Smartee's Landmark Presence at ALIGNEA 2026

On March 6, 2026, Smartee Denti-Technology, a pioneering company in the field of clear aligners, made waves at the 11th International Congress of Aligners (ALIGNEA) held in Salamanca, Spain from February 19 to 21. This event was not only a platform for showcasing their innovative technologies but also a reaffirmation of Smartee's commitment to the European market.

Showcasing Advanced Technology

During the congress, Smartee presented clinical applications of its proprietary mandibular repositioning technology, which has demonstrated promising results in orthodontic treatments. This technology is designed to address various jaw alignment issues, offering a non-invasive solution that enhances both facial balance and occlusal function.

A Unique Exhibit Design

Smartee's booth attracted significant attention, breaking the conventional clinical aesthetic often associated with orthodontics. The booth featured elements inspired by Iron Man, complete with licensed Marvel visuals. This creative approach infused warmth into the clinical dialogue and aimed to bridge the emotional gap between healthcare providers and adolescent patients.

This innovative mix of pop culture with medical professionalism showcased Smartee's mission to make orthodontics more relatable and engaging, particularly for younger audiences.

Keynote Presentation by Dr. Te Wang

Important to the event was Dr. Te Wang, a significant figure in the orthodontic community and a member of Prof. Gang Shen’s team at the Shanghai TaiKang Dental Hospital. He delivered a keynote speech on “A Novel Clear S8-SGTB Technique for Correcting Class II Skeletal Discrepancies Through Mandibular Repositioning.” His discussion centered around Class II malocclusions, a prevalent challenge in orthodontics that typically arises from disproportionate jaw growth, leading to facial profile irregularities. Traditionally, treatment options ranged from orthodontic camouflage to invasive surgeries.

Dr. Wang's presentation highlighted how Smartee's aligners offer simultaneous orthopedic and orthodontic corrections, signifying a major advancement in treatments aimed at correcting severe jaw discrepancies without the need for surgical interventions.

Expanding Beyond Traditional Orthodontics

In addition to striding into the orthodontic space, Smartee is also broadening its scope to include treatments for sleep apnea. This was exemplified by a specialized workshop titled “Optimizing Mandibular Repositioning and Treating Sleep Apnea in Teens and Adults with Advanced Appliances.” Presented by Dr. Wang along with Spanish clinics, it underscored the synergy between orthodontics and the management of sleep disorders, pushing for a more holistic, multidisciplinary approach in dental care.

Focused on Local Presence

Participating in ALIGNEA 2026 aligns with Smartee's broader strategy of strengthening its local presence in Europe. The company launched its Madrid manufacturing hub in 2024, which serves as a strategic base for expanding across Europe. This facility enables localized production, quicker service delivery, and tailored clinical solutions to meet European standards.

In October 2025, Smartee further enhanced its European infrastructure by opening a British branch and the European Orthodontic Clinical Support Center in Stoke-on-Trent. This center provides comprehensive orthodontic treatment planning, case analysis, and technical support, adhering to strict European data protection and clinical standards. Collaborations with local academic institutions also foster joint research initiatives.

Today, Smartee operates with two manufacturing facilities located in China and Spain, serving a network of over 99,000 partner doctors across 57 countries worldwide. Their continued commitment to evidence-based orthodontic solutions and clear aligner therapies highlights their role as a leader in the evolving landscape of dental technology.
