Fosun International Honored at TVB ESG Awards

On December 13, 2024, Fosun International was awarded the esteemed 'Outstanding ESG Award' during the annual TVB ESG Awards ceremony, held at Hong Kong's Convention and Exhibition Centre. This event, organized by Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), celebrated exemplary efforts in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices among various organizations. Alongside the top honor, Fosun also received awards for 'Best in ESG Practices' and 'Best in ESG Report'.

The awards were presented by notable figures, including Deputy Financial Secretary of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, Mr. Wong Wai Lun, and other dignitaries from the local government. The recognition comes as a result of Fosun's remarkable journey over the past three decades, transforming into a global powerhouse with diversified operations in sectors such as healthcare, tourism, and insurance. It operates responsibly in over 35 countries, actively contributing to global welfare and sustainable development.

Angel Sze, Fosun's Company Secretary and Head of the ESG Management Committee, expressed pride in the recognition and participated in a panel discussion to share insights on the company’s ESG achievements. She emphasized that Fosun remains committed to its principle of contributing back to society through innovative business practices. She highlighted advancements in the pharmaceutical sector, particularly in cancer treatment, noting the development of groundbreaking therapies like Yi Kai Da, the first CAR-T cell therapy approved for marketing in mainland China.

Fosun's continuous innovation includes pivotal healthcare solutions that have positively impacted millions, with its self-developed artesunate injection saving numerous lives globally. Such contributions have garnered the company notable recognition as a leader in the fight against diseases like malaria, with their second-generation treatment achieving international approval from the WHO.

In alignment with global sustainability efforts, Fosun has committed itself to significant climate goals, pledging to peak its carbon emissions by 2028 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
