This renowned program, now celebrating its 27th year, honors school districts and schools that have shown exceptional dedication to providing music education and ensuring all students have access to musical learning within a well-rounded education.

The deadline for applications is January 31, 2026, and interested institutions can find the application process outlined on the NAMM Foundation's website at

What's New This Year
In a move to support schools facing financial challenges, the BCME Award will include the
new BCME Opportunity Award. Eligible districts and schools can apply for this award to secure additional funds aimed at enhancing and sustaining music education programs where they are most needed. Up to five recipients will be chosen to receive awards of up to
$5,000. Title 1 schools, districts with Title 1 schools, and non-public schools with verified financial needs are eligible to apply for this funding. This initiative aims to bolster music programs, ensuring they continue to thrive despite potential budget constraints.

The impact of the BCME Award is evidenced by the success stories of previous honorees. Liberty Public Schools, recognized for 14 years, shared their experiences, with Aaron Money, Director of Fine Arts, noting the transformative power of music within their district: “This award showcases the impact that music has on inspiring students and connecting our community.”
