New Flagship Cancer Center Opens in Nashville
Tennessee Oncology, a well-established provider of cancer care in the state of Tennessee, has officially opened its doors to a new state-of-the-art cancer center located at Elliston Place Plaza in Nashville. This landmark event represents a significant milestone in the organization’s nearly 50-year commitment to delivering high-quality and compassionate cancer care.
Key Features of the New Cancer Center
The latest facility spans an impressive 200,000 square feet, equipped with advanced medical technologies aimed at enhancing patient health outcomes. It includes specialized clinics for oncology and hematology, along with dedicated Centers for Blood Cancers. One of the notable features of the center is its cutting-edge medical imaging services, which offer essential tools such as CT, MRI, and PET/CT scans, thus ensuring comprehensive diagnostics and treatment plans for all patients.
In addition to immediate treatment capabilities, the new cancer center is poised to host Park Pharmacy, which is set to begin operations in August. This medically integrated specialty pharmacy will provide both oral and injectable oncology therapies, making it a convenient option for patients undergoing treatment.
Commitment to Research and Innovation
Continuing its sustained commitment to advancing cancer research, the Greco Hainsworth Centers for Research – Drug Development is set to commence operations on-site by November. This addition will enhance access to pivotal clinical trials, offering patients cutting-edge treatment options and contributing significantly to the broader oncology research community.
Dr. Natalie Dickson, CEO and President of Tennessee Oncology, expressed her enthusiasm about the opening, stating, "From our founding in 1976, to launching clinical research in the 1990s, and expanding across Tennessee in the 2000s, Tennessee Oncology has always remained true to its mission of providing high-quality and compassionate cancer care. Welcoming patients into our new flagship center is an exciting next step in putting Tennessee patients first."
Moreover, the facility includes three levels of underground parking and five floors dedicated to patient care, innovation, and collaboration. It will also become the home of the corporate office for OneOncology, Tennessee Oncology's management service partner, which plans to relocate to the new center early next year.
Celebrating the Big Opening
To formally introduce this significant development to the Nashville healthcare community, Tennessee Oncology will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception on July 30. This event promises to celebrate not only the new center but also the ongoing commitment to improving cancer care in Tennessee.
