ELFBAR and LOST MARY Unveil New Heights in Vaping Safety and Innovation for 2025
In an impressive showcase of commitment to safety and technological advancement, the world-renowned vaping brands ELFBAR and LOST MARY have unveiled their latest research and development (R&D) breakthroughs. As part of their focus on safety and consumer health, both companies have significantly enhanced their testing protocols and product formulations for 2025.
Major R&D Breakthroughs
ELFBAR and LOST MARY have embarked on a science-driven R&D journey since their establishment, investing millions annually in the pursuit of safer and more innovative vaping solutions. In 2025 alone, these brands conducted over 136,000 tests, covering aspects such as e-liquids, aerosols, materials, and product reliability. According to Samuel Fu, R&D Engineering Director, rigorous testing has become a cornerstone of their operations to uphold the highest safety standards in the industry.
A notable aspect of their recent findings relates to the use of nicotine salts in their e-liquid formulations. A peer-reviewed study highlighted concerns with certain nicotine types, specifically nicotine lactate, which was found to release higher amounts of nickel from nickel-chromium heating coils compared to the nicotine benzoate variant. This revelation prompted the brands to initiate the phased elimination of nicotine lactate and related components from their products to further protect users.
Fu stressed the importance of industry-wide caution regarding nicotine lactate and called on regulators to establish clearer guidelines for e-liquid formulations, advocating for a collective effort to elevate safety standards across the vaping landscape.
Enhanced Testing Protocols
To ensure the utmost safety and reliability of their products, both ELFBAR and LOST MARY have implemented a comprehensive suite of 300 pre-market testing procedures. These include an extensive range of 170 chemical analyses of e-liquid and aerosol, 98 material assessments, and 32 device reliability tests – all performed prior to product launch. Furthermore, the introduction of 28 new testing procedures since May 2025 demonstrates a steadfast commitment to ongoing quality improvement.
The brands are also keen on maintaining transparency and accountability, as evidenced by their successful completion of multiple e-liquid proficiency tests conducted by the UK's Laboratory of the Government Chemist. All tests yielded satisfactory results, reaffiriming the brands' testing capabilities and their adherence to regulatory compliance.
In Fu's words, “Our aim is to provide reduced-risk products that adult users can confidently choose. We continuously refine our testing methodologies and enhance our quality control measures to ensure that all devices and e-liquids surpass regulatory benchmarks.”
A Strong Patent Portfolio
A significant driver behind ELFBAR and LOST MARY's innovation is their extensive patent portfolio, which as of November 2025, features over 2,200 invention and utility model patent applications, with 900 successfully granted worldwide. This impressive repository underscores their relentless pursuit of advancements in device structure, e-liquid formulation, and various components critical to vaping products.
The companies have plans to further leverage this collection of patents to introduce game-changing technologies designed to redefine the vaping experience, fortifying product safety to unprecedented levels.
As Fu states, “We’re excited about the upcoming innovations that will not only enhance the user experience but also significantly improve overall safety.”
