TRUFF Welcomes Esi Seng as New CEO
In a bold move, TRUFF, the luxury condiment brand known for its high-quality sauces, has appointed Esi Seng as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective March 3, 2025. This strategic decision comes as the company embarks on a new chapter aimed at enhancing its growth and innovation in the competitive condiment market. Co-founders Nick Ajluni and Nick Guillen expressed their enthusiasm about Esi's appointment, highlighting her extensive experience and visionary leadership style.
Esi Seng is no stranger to success; her career spans over two decades and includes leadership roles across various continents including North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Before joining TRUFF, she served as CEO at Tate's Cookies for nearly three years. Under her leadership, Tate's transformed from a specialty brand into a nationally recognized name following its acquisition by Mondelez. Esi implemented dynamic commercial strategies that significantly expanded distribution, generating double-digit revenue growth over three years.
Prior to her tenure at Tate's, Esi was the CEO of Tom's of Maine, an esteemed natural toothpaste brand. During her time there, she revitalized the 50+-year-old brand and led innovative launches like the first recyclable toothpaste tube, recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the Best Inventions of 2020. This included a 100% plastic-free deodorant line, further showcasing her commitment to sustainability. Esi’s impressive background also includes key roles at Colgate, L'Oréal, and MTV Networks, where she honed her skills in brand management and market development.
Nick Ajluni, co-founder of TRUFF, remarked, “After a meticulous search, we are thrilled to welcome Esi Seng to our team. Her extensive background and holistic vision will be vital as we work to redefine the condiment landscape.” Nick Guillen added, “Today signifies a transformative moment for TRUFF. We look forward to Esi’s leadership in driving commercial excellence and establishing a purpose-driven vision for our growth.”
Esi Seng herself expressed excitement about joining the TRUFF team. She stated, “I am honored to join such a talented group. I look forward to collaborating with the co-founders to build on TRUFF’s remarkable foundation. Together, we will continue to promote our unique products and expand our reach to new retailers and consumers.”
With Esi's appointment, TRUFF is strategically positioned to bolster its presence in the condiment and hot sauce sector. The company, which prides itself on its premium offerings made with real truffles and flavorful ingredients such as jalapeno and habanero peppers, is committed to making ordinary meals extraordinary.
Founded in 2015 by Nick Ajluni and Nick Guillen, TRUFF quickly gained popularity through a viral hot sauce launch in 2017 and has since emerged as the fastest-growing entity within the hot sauce industry. The brand has successfully expanded its product line to include truffle mayonnaise, pasta sauce, truffle oil, and truffle salt, catering to diverse consumer tastes.
In late 2023, TRUFF made headlines by securing significant minority investments from SKKY Partners, the private equity firm co-owned by Kim Kardashian and Jay Sammons, focusing on high-growth consumer brands. This partnership is expected to enhance TRUFF's capacity for scaling and innovation, bolstering its brand presence across retail channels nationwide.
Esi Seng’s leadership marks a new era for TRUFF as it strives to elevate the standard of premium condiments. Exciting developments are on the horizon, as the company looks to expand its footprint and establish itself further as a leader in the gourmet condiment space.
