Fundamentals of Microwave Heating: Seminar Announcement
Overview
On January 29, 2026, CMC Research will host a live online seminar titled
"Fundamentals of Microwave Heating: From Microwaves to High-Temperature Furnaces". This event, featuring a video archive option, will be led by Associate Professor
Kiyoshi Kashimura of Chubu University at the Faculty of Engineering.
The seminar will run from
10:30 AM to 4:30 PM (JST), covering essential microwave heating technologies and their applications across various chemical and material processes. Participants will explore practical examples that demonstrate efficiency improvements and cost savings in industrial applications.
Learning Objectives
Participants in this seminar will gain insights into:
- - Basics of microwave heating
- - Fundamentals of microwave chemistry (including chemical reactions enabled by microwaves)
- - Applications of microwave processes
- - Design considerations for microwave heating systems
The seminar aims to provide engineers and researchers considering microwave technology applications an overview necessary for operational success. It will address challenges encountered in microwave processes while offering control strategies based on heating engineering and electromagnetic principles. Additionally, participants can expect discussions on the potential of microwave heating processes and the emerging unknowns in this field.
