By participating in this initiative, Compass Mining aims to provide humanitarian resources such as affordable energy to underserved populations. A Test Case in Nigeria

The partnership's first step focuses on Nigeria, where Compass Mining has directed a fraction of its mining output towards a supportive Bitcoin mining pool managed by Synota. Through this pool, managed on behalf of Renewvia Solar Africa, the revenue created is aimed at offsetting electricity costs for crucial infrastructure.

At Oloibiri Hospital, Compass's contributions have been able to cover monthly power bills, enabling the facility to reallocate resources towards enhancing patient care. With over 3,600 patients treated annually and more than 34,000 births since their inception in 2010, the hospital is now equipped to treat even more patients effectively.

Moreover, in the rural village of Ozuzu, connected to a solar mini-grid as part of the initiative, 150 homes, businesses, and a school are enjoying a 20% reduction in power costs due to the efforts of Impact Mining. This reduction has meaningful implications—better lighting, increased technology utilization, and enhanced economic opportunities for all residents.
