Applied ABC Commits to Enhancing Autism Services in Hawaii Through New Professional Training Programs
Applied ABC Expands Autism Services in Hawaii
Applied ABC is making a significant push to enhance autism services throughout Hawaii by offering essential professional training opportunities tailored for autism specialists. The organization recently hosted a complimentary two-day QBS Safety-Care Certification training in Honolulu on July 28 and 29, aimed at Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), paraprofessionals, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
This training invited both new and experienced professionals to gain certification or renew their credentials, with the main goal of equipping them with skills to safely and effectively assist children affected by autism and other developmental disabilities. The QBS Safety-Care program is recognized nationally, focusing on evidence-based techniques to manage challenging behaviors while ensuring the dignity and safety of both children and the professionals involved.
Michelle McInnes, the Clinical Director at Applied ABC, emphasized the importance of high-quality autism services amid the organization's expansion efforts in Hawaii. "Hawaii deserves access to high-quality autism services supported by well-trained professionals," she stated. As Applied ABC grows its local presence, it remains committed not only to the families it serves but also to the dedicated professionals who facilitate those services.
Applied ABC has recently begun providing tailored Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children diagnosed with autism. Beyond clinical offerings, the organization actively aims to establish strong relationships with local professionals, schools, community partners, and families, working diligently to reinforce Hawaii's autism support network.
The recent Safety-Care training marks the onset of a broader initiative by Applied ABC focusing on professional development and community engagement in Hawaii. They are planning to conduct additional educational and certification events in the near future, fostering opportunities for professionals to enhance their skills and continue delivering high-quality care across the islands.
"Hawaii is more than just a service area for us; it represents a cherished community we are honored to be part of," McInnes added. This perspective underlines Applied ABC's dedication to future collaborations, trainings, and initiatives that will further benefit local families and the professionals who support them.
