Adidas Launches New Running Line
Adidas Japan, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo and led by Takahiro Hagi, is set to launch its latest offerings on January 16, 2026. The famed sportswear brand introduces a new colorway for the versatile "EVO SL WOVEN" running shoes and a newly designed running apparel collection titled "DAY//Ø." These items are inspired by the expanding lifestyle running culture that is thriving in urban environments. Furthermore, from January 31, 2026, Adidas will host a temporary pop-up space, "EVO SL BASE," in Harajuku, providing an engaging experience for fans of lifestyle running.
In recent years, the trend of "lifestyle running" has taken off, where running is celebrated not just as a competitive sport but as an integral part of daily life. It merges fashion and culture, allowing people to connect with others while expressing their unique identities through running. Recognizing this evolution, Adidas is poised to launch a range of new products, including the EVO SL WOVEN and DAY//Ø, tailored to this new running culture.
The original "EVO SL" has garnered global acclaim since its introduction in 2024, appealing to lifestyle runners for its top-notch performance combined with a minimalist and iconic design that seamlessly transitions from workouts to everyday wear. Set to launch in November 2025, the updated "EVO SL WOVEN" features a woven upper material for enhanced flexibility and fit. The new colorway channels Adidas's signature black and white iconography, making it an ideal choice for both athletic and casual settings.
Simultaneously, the DAY//Ø apparel collection will also debut on the same day. This collection, designed in Japan, aims to embody three core principles: sophisticated design, unconventional silhouettes and styling, and essential functionality for runners. Like the EVO SL WOVEN, the DAY//Ø collection features basic colors suitable for a variety of occasions, from running to lifestyle scenarios.
Additionally, the pop-up space "EVO SL BASE" in Harajuku will establish a hub where participants can engage with Adidas's lifestyle running ethos from January 30 to February 1, 2026. Visitors will discover a variety of activities including free shoe rentals of the EVO SL, running sessions, and complimentary coffee. The space will also host customization services featuring original shoe embroidery by collaborating artists such as NAIJEL GRAPH and YAMEPI, allowing attendees to create a personalized running style that reflects their lifestyle.
