Persol Business Process Design Supports Nagasaki's Future through Corporate Hometown Tax Donations

Empowering Nagasaki's Future: Persol's Commitment to Local Development

Persol Business Process Design, a part of the broader Persol Group, has taken a significant step towards supporting the future of Nagasaki through their recent donations utilizing the Corporate Hometown Tax system. This initiative aligns with the company’s vision of "Working and Smiling" and emphasizes their ongoing commitment to local community engagement and development.

On August 20, 2025, a presentation ceremony was held at the Nagasaki Prefectural Office to express gratitude for this generous contribution. The event was attended by notable figures, including Nagasaki Governor Kengo Oishi and the President of Persol Business Process Design, Kazuyuki Ichimura, who highlighted the importance of such support in enhancing local welfare and capability.

Since establishing a base in Nagasaki in 2017, Persol Business Process Design has employed approximately 450 people at their Sasebo location. Here, they provide a variety of vital services including help desk and call center operations, BPO solutions, HR services, and healthcare solutions. The recent donations are part of the company's efforts to tackle societal issues, especially focusing on regional revitalization and supporting local municipalities where many employees reside.

The funds donated are earmarked for the "Future Human Resource Development and Support Project in Nagasaki," which aims to nurture and secure talent for the future of the region. This initiative will promote opportunities for young individuals, facilitate UI-turn strategies (returning residents), and encourage workation activities that can benefit the local economy.

Persol Business Process Design aims to remain actively involved in contributing to the revitalization of Sasebo and other local communities beyond this donation. They are committed to building lasting connections and collaborations that lead to sustainable development regional initiatives.

Additionally, it’s essential to understand the framework of the Corporate Hometown Tax system. This mechanism allows corporations to receive tax deductions from corporate taxes when they contribute to local public projects recognized by the government under regional revitalization plans.
