This variety uses largely Yutakamidori from Kagoshima and is produced through a deep steaming process. It presents a rich green hue with a refreshing flavor and smooth bitterness, ideal for deep-steamed tea lovers.
Limited Edition: Hachiju Hachiya
One of the most celebrated offerings from Tokyo Handatei is the
Reservations Limited Tea Hachiju Hachiya, renowned since the shop's establishment in 1947, which can be reserved until April 20. Each year, the representative, Minoru Handa, traverses tea fields in Kagoshima, Shizuoka, and Kyoto during April to assess the quality and condition of the tea leaves firsthand. This tea combines the finest first-harvest leaves, ensuring the delightful freshness characteristic of new tea.
Hachiju Hachiya is harvested on the 88th day from Risshun, a time traditionally associated with longevity, and is regarded as an auspicious tea for well-being and prosperity. It’s available for 90g at 1,800 yen.
For customers who purchase the Hachiju Hachiya, Tokyo Handatei offers an exclusive notification for the
