Community Development Meeting for Nakano South Exit
On April 17, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Nakano City Hall Indoor Event Space "Nakanoba," the Nakano South Exit Community Development Committee will host its annual activity report meeting. This gathering aims to share the progress of the past year with local residents. During 2025, the committee focused on two main activities: a design workshop entitled “Designing the Community Development for Nakano Station South Exit” and a community event known as “Nakanominami Picnic Day.”
Purpose of the Event
The primary goal of this meeting is to review the year's accomplishments as a community and discuss the future vision for the Nakano South Exit area. Participants will also engage in a panel discussion led by experts, including the Nakano City Mayor, Naoto Sakai.
Reflecting on a Year of Activities
The Nakano South Exit Community Development Committee has worked collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including local residents, businesses, and students, to explore and enhance the appeal of the Nakano Station South Exit area. This report meeting will share results and share challenges faced throughout the year, allowing attendees to develop ideas for future actions with the aim to further enrich the Nakano South Exit area.
Activities Report from Student Participants
Students who participated in the design workshop will present their proposals, alongside findings from the “Nakanominami Picnic Day” community experiment. A detailed report back will provide insights into the successes and challenges faced during these activities.
Panel Discussion on Future Developments
The event will feature a panel discussion where all attendees can share their insights and collaboratively envision the future of the Nakano South Exit area. Expert moderators, Masami Kobayashi (Professor Emeritus at Meiji University) and Ruii Izumi (Associate Professor at Nihon University), will facilitate the conversation, ensuring that everyone's voice is heard.
