Mukonoso Takes the Top Spot in Hyogo for Rental Properties
Nifty Lifestyle Co., Ltd., known for its extensive real estate platform with over 14 million listings, recently released its ranking of the most popular rental areas in Hyogo for 2025. This ranking is based on real search data from users seeking rental properties, emphasizing the areas that have garnered the most attention from potential renters.
The Rise of Mukonoso
For the first time, Mukonoso has clinched the top spot, moving up from its previous rank of second place in August 2024. A well-known residential area in Amagasaki, it offers excellent accessibility to Osaka's Umeda Station, taking just about 15 minutes without the need for transfers via the Hankyu Kobe Line. The location's appeal lies not only in its convenience for commuters and students but also in its tranquil environment enriched with greenery.
Real estate analysts highlight that Mukonoso is rated highly for its child-friendly atmosphere, making it an attractive choice for families. The average rent for a two-bedroom apartment (2LDK) or three-bedroom apartment (3LDK) is around 90,000 yen, which is reasonable considering the area’s amenities and family-oriented facilities.
Additionally, plans to build the provisional Mukogawa New Station, set to open in 2031, are expected to enhance local living conditions further. The development aims to create ample roadway space for pedestrians and cyclists, promising a more livable environment for current and future residents.
Second Place: Sannomiya
In the runner-up slot is Sannomiya, the bustling heart of Kobe city. Previously holding the top position for two consecutive years, it has slipped to second place in this latest ranking.
JR Sannomiya Station stands as a significant transportation hub with multiple lines converging, including the JR, Hankyu, Hanshin, and the Kobe Municipal Subway. With quick links to Osaka (approximately 30 minutes by the JR Special Rapid Service) and Himeji (around 40 minutes), Sannomiya remains a desirable location for both work and leisure.
The vicinity is dotted with large shopping complexes, vibrant restaurants, and entertainment venues, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy urban life. Furthermore, ongoing developments, including a new 155-meter-high station building and improved pedestrian decks, are anticipated to enrich the local landscape and accessibility.
Third Place: Nishi-Akashi
Securing the third spot is Nishi-Akashi in Akashi city. This station is uniquely positioned where the Sanyo Shinkansen and the JR Kobe Line intersect. With Sannomiya just 35 minutes away and Osaka 40 minutes, it offers robust commuting options.
Average rents in Nishi-Akashi remain budget-friendly, with 1K apartments at around 49,000 yen and 1LDK apartments at roughly 72,000 yen. The area is well-equipped with supermarkets, restaurants, and medical facilities, ensuring a comfortable daily life.
The neighborhood is also undergoing significant enhancements, particularly south of the station. A large-scale redevelopment project centered around the Nishi-Akashi Community Center
