IDnow Welcomes Philippe Morel as New Chief Executive Officer Leading Digital Identity Innovations

IDnow Appoints Philippe Morel as CEO

In a significant move for the digital identity sector, IDnow, a European frontrunner in digital identity verification and fraud prevention, has announced the appointment of Philippe Morel as its new Chief Executive Officer. This decision comes as the company continues to navigate advancements in identity solutions and the evolving regulatory landscape.

Transition and Leadership Experience

Philippe Morel steps into this key role effective immediately, succeeding Andreas Bodczek, who has led the company for over seven years, guiding it to become one of the foremost providers of identity solutions in Europe. Morel brings over 30 years of executive leadership experience in financial services and technology sectors, particularly in scaling regulated tech companies in partnership with private equity investors.

Before joining IDnow, Philippe was the CEO of Railsr, a digital finance platform. His leadership contributed to a strategic repositioning and commercial revival of the business prior to its merger with Equals Money. Moreover, at SETL, a blockchain market infrastructure supplier, he spearheaded initiatives that enhanced digital payment and settlement networks, including the Regulated Liability Network project, which was tested in collaboration with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Philippe’s earlier career includes a significant tenure at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he held prominent positions including Senior Partner and Managing Director. His extensive advisory role involved guiding major financial institutions on growth strategies, M&A, and transformations across Europe, the U.S., and Asia.

IDnow’s Strategic Direction

Philippe’s appointment coincides with IDnow launching its new Trust Platform in June 2026. This platform represents a shift from traditional identity verification practices to a comprehensive model promoting continuous customer trust through modular services like Identify, Authenticate, Protect, and Trust. The Trust Platform facilitates the orchestration of identity verification and fraud prevention while complying with evolving European regulations such as AMLR and eIDAS 2.0.

The platform is designed to empower organizations to manage risk signals in real-time and automate decision-making processes, ultimately aiming to mitigate increasingly sophisticated forms of fraud driven by advancements in AI technology.

Acknowledging Andreas Bodczek’s Legacy

As Philippe assumes his new position, the IDnow board extends its gratitude to Andreas Bodczek for his outstanding leadership and dedication over the years. Under his tenure, Bodczek was instrumental in transitioning IDnow from a founder-led company to a robust, investment-supported operation. His strategic oversight facilitated acquisitions that significantly expanded IDnow’s capabilities and established a strong engineering presence across Europe, paving the way for sustained growth.

Looking Ahead

Philippe Morel expressed his excitement for this new journey, emphasizing the exceptional talent within IDnow and the company’s pivotal role in navigating the digital identity landscape. He plans to focus on engaging with clients, employees, and partners to collectively chart the next growth phase for IDnow. His belief in the importance of establishing continuous trust in customer relationships is at the forefront of IDnow’s mission.

As IDnow prepares for future developments, the leadership transition marks a crucial chapter in its history, setting the stage for innovative solutions and sustainable growth within the digital identity sector.
