Newark's World Cup Celebration: Join the Fan Festivities on June 24, 2026!

Unforgettable World Cup Celebration in Newark

On June 24, 2026, Newark will transform into a lively hub of soccer enthusiasm as the Newark Fan Village collaborates with Flag Cities 2026 to host an event titled “Kicking It in Newark Together.” This celebration promises a full day packed with soccer matches, cultural performances, gourmet food, and community activities, bringing together the heart of Newark and its diverse residents.

This year’s collaboration comes as a response to the exciting atmosphere surrounding the FIFA World Cup, embracing the festival spirit that characterizes soccer culture. The Newark World Cup Fan Village, located in the bustling Ironbound section of Newark, aims to be a central gathering place where the excitement of the World Cup is palpable.

Previously planned for Mulberry Commons, the Flag Cities Newark event has now shifted to the Fan Village at 70 Ferry Street—just two blocks from Newark Penn Station and only about 22 minutes from MetLife Stadium. This new venue allows for larger crowds, improved accessibility, and provides an immersive experience for fans.

A Celebration of Culture and Community

The event will take place from 2:00 PM to midnight, showcasing live broadcasts of six important FIFA World Cup matches, cultural performances, and an array of culinary delights that reflect Newark's rich and diverse communities. The goal is to create a vibrant atmosphere where soccer fans can come together to celebrate not just the sport, but the culture and camaraderie it fosters.

Attendees can look forward to:
  • - Headline entertainment including DJ Funkmaster Flex and DJ Big Ben.
  • - Cultural performances that highlight the traditions of the nations playing on that day.
  • - Massive LED screens streaming the live matches, ensuring fans won’t miss a moment of the action.
