Asana Partners and Norges Bank Collaborate on Neighborhood Retail Investment Strategy
Asana Partners and Norges Bank Team Up for Strategic Retail Investment
In a significant move within the real estate sector, Asana Partners has officially announced a partnership with Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) to create the Asana Partners Strategic Partners I (APSP I). This new venture is expected to focus on investing in and managing prime neighborhood retail properties across the United States.
With an initial equity commitment of $500 million from NBIM, APSP I aims to concentrate on various types of high-quality retail assets. These include grocery-anchored shopping centers, street retail locations, unanchored centers, and mixed-use developments. The partnership seeks to capitalize on markets exhibiting favorable demographic trends, a robust demand for tenants, and strong consumer fundamentals, providing ample opportunities for long-term value growth.
Reed Kracke, a partner at Asana Partners, said, "We are honored to partner with NBIM, one of the world's premier institutional investors. The establishment of APSP I underscores our collective belief in the resilience of neighborhood retail real estate and enhances our ability to seize attractive investment opportunities nationwide."
The collaboration with NBIM complements Asana Partners’ existing core and core+ investment approaches, either through their Asana Partners Select Fund or new initiatives. The initial investment strategy includes acquiring a 50 percent stake in a portfolio of premium grocery-anchored centers situated in desirable growth markets.
Asana Partners is recognized as a retail real estate investment firm that strives to add value to vibrant neighborhoods by utilizing integrated capabilities and extensive retail knowledge. With over $9 billion in neighborhood assets under its management, the firm remains active in thriving markets throughout the United States, committed to making a beneficial impact within the communities it serves.
The legal aspects of this strategic partnership were managed by King & Spalding LLP for Asana Partners, while Clifford Chance acted as legal counsel for NBIM.
