This initiative was facilitated by All Energy Solar, a prominent solar energy provider based in St. Paul, Minnesota, which has been instrumental in helping educational institutions make similar transitions. With support from the Solar for Schools grant program launched by the Minnesota State Legislature in 2021, the district is not only enhancing its infrastructure but also enriching its curriculum.

A Commitment to Sustainability



Minneota Public Schools, catering to students from kindergarten through 12th grade, is renowned for its academic excellence. The district has achieved impressive rankings, being #17 in the state for State Assessment Proficiency and #19 in performance, all while maintaining a remarkable 100% graduation rate. The school's commitment to innovation and sustainability was reinforced when they learned about the Solar for Schools program in 2024. This program aims to encourage the installation of solar energy systems in educational facilities, thereby promoting renewable energy awareness.

The newly installed solar energy system, equipped with a capacity of 47.56 kW, consists of 82 solar panels located on the roof of the gymnasium. Les Engler, the Facilities Manager for Minneota, noted the effectiveness of the system, stating, "The solar energy system has been working very well for the school with the help of All Energy Solar."

Incorporating this technology into the educational framework, Minneota Schools currently offers solar energy components in three of its science classes. Students utilize an innovative application that allows them to monitor the solar inverters and even track the output of individual solar panels. Michael Thalhimer, Director of Business Development at All Energy Solar, expressed pride in their contribution to the project, stating, "We're proud to have delivered over 11,000 successful projects throughout our 16 years in business.
