The event, aptly named Backyard Bash, featured a variety of engaging activities designed to foster community spirit, while also showcasing the fresh and inviting updates to the store.

Attendees were greeted by a spacious new entrance and modern self-checkout lanes, marking a significant enhancement in convenience for shoppers. Many local residents gathered to enjoy the festivities, which included T-shirt giveaways, inflatable games, cornhole competitions, face painting, a photo booth, and tempting store-wide sampling options.

Making the occasion even more special, team members from SpartanNash alongside their children took part in personalizing the event by decorating the grand opening ribbon. Store Vice President Brandon Pasch emphasized that the renewed Family Fare is uniquely tailored to meet the needs of the Byron Center community, stating, "Our refreshed Byron Center Family Fare has everything our shoppers and their families need from a neighborhood store — in addition to all the new features we’ve added to make the experience even more convenient."

Additionally, the meat and seafood counter has been refreshed, featuring both choice and prime beef, while the bakery continues to provide fresh bread and donuts made daily in-store. An expanded selection of local products caters to the community's preference for quality and locality.

The Family Fare Express, located next to the store, has also seen renovations, including improved fuel canopies and the introduction of a digital sign that makes it easier for customers to learn about the latest offerings.
