Supporting Non-Profit Organizations with Enhanced PR Skills through Learney's New Program

Supporting Non-Profit Organizations with Enhanced PR Skills

Hasshin Kaigi, based in Minato, Tokyo, has announced the launch of a special support program aimed at helping non-profit organizations improve their public relations skills. The initiative is part of their e-learning service, Learney, which has been designed to provide hands-on support in learning the fundamentals of public relations. The newly introduced plan will allow non-profit entities to access the online course titled "The Guide to Solo PR" at half the regular price, reducing the cost from 55,000 yen to just 27,500 yen.

Aiming to Aid Social Issue Resolvers

Non-profit organizations play a vital role in addressing social issues that neither the government nor private companies can fully manage. Their contributions are diverse, extending to environmental conservation, welfare, community development, child welfare, and even sports promotion. Since the introduction of the Law for Promotion of Specified Non-Profit Activities in 1998, these organizations have become crucial players in tackling societal challenges across Japan.

For non-profits, it’s essential to raise awareness about their activities and gain empathic support from the public. This is where the role of public relations becomes crucial. However, many non-profit organizations face significant resource limitations compared to larger corporations, straining their ability to manage effective communication. New or inexperienced PR personnel often find themselves overwhelmed and unsure of how to begin, similar to the challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises just starting their PR journeys. Furthermore, opportunities to learn specialized PR knowledge are scarce, leading to a demand for guidance in effective communication practices.

The Popular Course for PR Beginners

The founder and CEO of Hasshin Kaigi, Chie Inoue, has authored the book "The Guide to Solo PR," a business guide primarily targeted at corporate PR professionals and executives. Despite its intended audience, the book has garnered considerable support from various non-profit organizations. This has been attributed to many non-profits either establishing their PR roles for the first time or assigning individuals with little to no prior PR experience to these positions.

The "Learney Non-Profit Support Plan" is built on the foundations of this successful book, featuring video lectures based on its content along with practical assignments tailored to each organization’s unique circumstances. Participants not only benefit from the instructional videos but also have the chance to engage in activities that naturally refine their PR efforts. The assignments submitted for review are personally evaluated by experienced PR professionals with over eight years in the field, ensuring personalized feedback that furthers learning.

Success Stories from Participants

One notable example is the Japan Library Promotion Foundation, which praised the program for providing exceptional support that fostered significant growth from a beginner level in PR knowledge.

Program Overview

A Mission to Empower Non-Profits

With the Learney platform celebrating its one-year mark, initial expectations were set on serving primarily corporate PR professionals. However, the overwhelmingly positive response from non-profit organizations has far exceeded expectations. Many of these entities operate with even tighter budgets and resources than small businesses, and they often invest their own time and money to enhance their communication skills.

This has inspired our commitment at Hasshin Kaigi to strengthen the informational outreach of non-profits that passionately tackle social issues. We aim to change the prevailing situation where crucial activities are overlooked due to financial and resource constraints. Through the introduction of the
