Celebrating Everyday Love Moments with Canon's New Initiative
Canon Marketing Japan, led by CEO Masachika Adachi, is excited to announce the launch of a new promotional campaign, "MeDekatsu," starting in June 2026. This initiative aims to embrace and cherish those fleeting moments of love that can be found in our daily lives. Through innovative uses of inkjet and mini photo printers, Canon is setting out to redefine our interactions with these intimate moments.
What is MeDekatsu?
Since the early 2000s, society has undergone a significant digital transformation, driven by the proliferation of the internet, smartphones, and advancements in communication infrastructure. However, a noticeable shift towards analog experiences has emerged, particularly among the digital-native generation. Trends like "oshi-katsu," where fans celebrate their favorites, are expanding beyond just idols and characters to encompass the unique aspects of daily life that each individual adores.
With digital documentation becoming the norm, many are discovering the value of analog experiences as a way to find meaning beyond simple records. The MeDekatsu initiative emphasizes that by printing, we can transform our cherished moments and personal favorites into tangible expressions. This movement encourages individuals to spotlight their "favorite" moments, reaffirming the importance of celebrating love in everyday experiences. The act of printing should not be seen merely as a chore; instead, it is an opportunity for personal enrichment and a moment of joy that fosters a deeper connection to our loved ones.
Canon aims to make MeDekatsu an inclusive activity that allows everyone to freely engage with their personal likes without limitations.
